We have wanted rain chains since we saw them in a model home Three years ago. My wife asked for them on her wish list, and I was excited to get them. The rain chain we received with the fluted cups came in the wrong finish. We ordered Stainless and got Copper.
My wife decided she could live with the copper finish, so we did not need to return them. I installed the chain on a 6 foot long gutter with a 3" hole. After installing, we ran a garden hose in the gutter to see it work. Less than 10% of the water made it to the bottom of the chain at any flow rate. Then I used one of the unused cups to funnel the water from the gutter to the chain covering the flare from the gutter. It made the installation look much better, but now maybe 25% of the water made it down the chain. Just for grins, I took a standard oval loop chain left over from a home lighting fixture and installed it in place of the fluted cups set. Now about 80% of the water made it down the chain. But it looked way too plain and it was bound to rust.
In our situation we needed Most of the water to make it to the bottom to be captured by a splash pan and directed away from the house. If this is not an important consideration for your installation, you may try these rain chains. They are beautiful. I will not be able to use this set until we buy a new house that has a different drain situation not requiring most of the water to do anything but look good falling down the pretty copper fluted cups.

Full length means about 8 ft and the chains and cups are very well made. Got it for $36, which was less than half of what the other chains on Amazon were going for.
