Paton's is my go-to yarn for felting projects. It's a good quality product, with many lovely colors and blends. It's texture and hand are pleasing, the price is right, and now that I've used it multiple times, it's possible to predict the percentage of shrinkage. I use it for things that I make for myself, and also for items that I sell at my booth at the local arts center. Highly recommended.

Color Name: Wisteria Verified Purchase
I recently made a batch of wool dryer balls from a bunch of mismatched yarn that I had left over from other projects. I purchased this to put the last layer or felting on and make the balls all one color on the outside. The color is exactly as pictured - a wonderful compliment to the lavender scent I'll add to the balls before giving as gifts. The yarn felted up well after one washing, an added wash after soaking in hot water gave exactly the finish I was looking for.

I got this and another color to make felted dryer balls and one skein was the exact amount I needed to make 3 of a pretty good size. They felted up incredibly well. Very happy with my purchase.

Color Name: Winter White
My favorite go-to yarn is Lion Brand, but I'm always on the lookout for lovely, cheap yarns. I tried Paton's several months ago when I found it on sale at a craft store nearby. I bought enough skeins to make a winter hat and mittens for myself. I made the Fair Isle hat but have not yet made the mittens, because I got caught up in other projects that I was making for Christmas presents. That hat is one of the warmest hats I've ever had the pleasure of wearing. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) our winter here in PA was inordinately mild, so I didn't have many opportunities to wear the hat last year. But I'm hoping for a brisk, cold winter with lots of snow so I can get good mileage out of the hat and mittens this year! ;-)

The yarn is really lush and soft and, honestly, just a pleasure to work with. The colors are beautiful and you can actually feel the quality in this yarn. Excellent for beginners to advanced knitters.

Color Name: Plum Heather Verified Purchase
I love this yarn, but wanted to mention that the "plum heather" color is a little bit redder and the "moss heather" is browner than what's pictured. Incidentally, the "moss heather" looks more like moss than that photo.

Patons Classic Wool yarn is always predictable in color, hand, and felting ability. I used this skein to make a "dryer ball" for my electric dryer. I add it to wet clothes as I put them in the dryer. It cuts down drying time and softens the clothes without chemicals.

Color Name: Jade Heather Verified Purchase
Classic Merino Wool Yarn is nice and warm, not scratchy and knits beautifully. It also wears well without pilling. It has definition so is good to use on cable stitches and is my favorite yarn at a good price at Amazon I wish it came in more colors, but I guess you can't have everything.

I bought this yarn to make dryer balls. It worked great and felted well with only one washing. I made three tennis-ball size dryer balls with one skein and leave them in the dryer at all times.
