Knitter needs simple directions,
This review is from: Patons: Next Steps Two: Create Pullover
I've been learning to knit for over a year. Started out just doing the 2 basic stitches. Have completed three projects from this book: Garter Stitch Hat with Cuff (pg. 16), Garter Stitch & Stocking Stitch Sweater (pg. 29), and Multi Strand Blanket (pg. 34).The directions for each were easy to follow and accurate. Highly suggest you use the materials recommended (if not Patons yarn, then at least the correct weight). Though my substitution for the sweater turned out beautiful it was extremely difficult to seam together due to the yarn type. This difficulty would have been avoided if I had used the recommended material. By the way, the blanket is extremely warm. Not a project you want to be working on during the summer, but excellent for a winter project. There is also a poncho pattern (pg. 43) from which I took directions for the Seed stitch and simply continued knitting until it had lengthened into a scarf. Basically it is a wonderful first book for knitters. The patterns are easy to follow and specifically designed for the learning knitter. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn how to knit.
