Brazilian soul served well done, August 29, 2008

From what I've read, Patricia Marx is no stranger to music. She was apparently a pop star in her native Brazil in the 80's and 90s. This effort, self titled Patricia Marx, is on the money. The music is more neo soulish rather than pop, and her voice is reminiscent of Aaliyah. Marx sings in both English and Portuguese. All in all, it's a well done, laid back CD; something to listen to on a rainy night. Key tracks, Menino, New Life, Burning Luv (my fav!), and Lotta Luck.
