This ram was part of a package deal that i found on newegg. The ram was paired with AMD board and processor and the rest of the essential components. The ram is tested with intel and as such gave me some trouble with my AMD setup. A quick email to the patriot tech support and I'd overclocked the ram via their specifications. With AMD it seems (at least in my case) you have to up the voltage and frequency.

I ended up setting the frequency to 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24, and 1.65V.

Have not tried changing the timing.

Overall a great buy, don't be too surprised if you spend 1/2 hour getting it set up properly for an AMD system.

I just built a new Core i7 System and used these RAM sticks. I am extremely pleased with these sticks. I have my system overclocked and these sticks are running at 1531Mhz at 1.65V. I have run memtest and prime95 and these sticks have been extremely stable.

4GB is more than sufficient even for hardcore gaming and benchmarking, and I will stick with this pair. I got 7.7 in the WEI score under Windows 7 for memory.

Patriot is a great company for RAM, and they continue to deliver.

I am very pleased with this memory, it worked on my ECS motherboard with the new AMD phenom II /x4 955. Right off the bat.

no problem so far, it was rated 5.9 by Windows Vista, I might buy another pair of them, on my next purchase
