The Patriot Act is inspiring, September 8, 2005
This review is from: The Patriot Act (Paperback)
The Patriot Act is a very intelligent, well-written political-legal thriller that has a brisk pace, even in the courtroom scenes that tend to be a little tedious in other legal dramas. The author has crafted a story filled with complex characters whose actions are not only believable but often very moving. It is a story that begins by being humorous in an edgy, off-beat sort of way, and ends up being terrifying in its implications regarding the erosion of our constitutional rights under the Bush administrations leviathon "war on terror." This book will not change any minds, politically speaking, but for those who are already of the mind that the neocons with which George Bush has surrounded himself are a rather puffed-up, dangerous lot, this book is required reading
