Fantastic!, October 25, 2006
This review is from: The Patriot Game: Canada and the Canadian Question Revisited (Paperback)
This book, though a litle old now, will really get you thinking about whats wrong with Canada's polity today.
The problems are essentially the same, because they have not yet been addressed.
One of the most salient problem, of course, is bilingualism.
The Canadian powers that be have consistently been selling out Western Canada's interests to build their own power base and more importantly placate Quebec. However Quebec has barely been affected, taking its own path and is now more or less a separate nation within a nation. Readers may well be shocked to see this was the same game played back the last few decades till 1986 when Brimelow wrote this book.
Its a complex book which will take you into the history of Canada, including bilingualism. Its leaders, its broken promises and propagandistic lies. Its also, sadly, impossible to summarize adequately because it covers such diverse areas of interest.
Highly Recommended for those interest in the past, and future, of the Canadian confederation.
