The product is great to store mass of data even a whole operating system fits including applications. The speed test reveals that speed read write speed is not among the top competitors but it's probably acceptable for most people. The stick I bought was sealed in a plastic housing which isn't bad for the main body but there are issues. 1. The cap is a separate piece which gets lost easily. Luckily their customer support was friendly and supportive sending me 3 additional caps for replacement. 2. The lash of the stick is plastic very thin and easy to tear off so you can easily loose your stick which would be quite a loss considering the price. I think the current new sticks come with a metal lash and the stick is less expensive.

I owned this drive for only a couple days before I decided to return it. It was just too slow for me. Seriously, having 32gb in a flash drive is supposed to be a convenient way of carrying lot's of data around. However, there is not much convenience if the drive is that slow.

To be specific I made two tests.
First I copied a folder containing mostly large files. That was 1770MB in 373 files and 18 sub-folders. The write speed come out to be 9.8 MB/s. However when copying small files, 2 folders containing 680MB in 1800 files and 70 sub folders, the write speed went down to 1.9 MB/s... which is just painful.

My portable hard drive copied those in 43s, giving writing speed of 16MB/s. Now how can you compare a hard drive to a flash drive? I tell you how. For those who don't know, portable hard drives are very small (mine is just about as small as you can make a 2.5" hard drive) and they're powered through USB drive, so no external power required. Also mine cost only around 200 bucks for 500gb, compare this to the [............] for 32gb you're paying for this thing.
Of course a portable hard drive's size isn't quite as convenient as a flash drive's. But as I said, slow write speed kinda destroys the fun of having much space.

This is just a thought for you, if you've never considered a portable hard drive before. I for my part am content with mine now. I always find a place to put it if I know I'm gonna be needing to transfer lot's of stuff. For just everyday use I'm gonna go with a smaller flash drive that has a decent write speed.

Great product. HUGE capacity for great price (Thanks Amazon). It's rubber housing, though making it tough, does make it quite thick...really only a minor issue.
