Dazzling,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Patriote Proposition (Darmon Mysteries) (Paperback)
The Patriot Proposition was, by all accounts, a historical thriller! There's lots of action to keep the pages turning, and the main character, the prim and proper Elizabeth Darmon, is uncannily three-dimensional. One minute, she's a lady of her time, sitting in a floor-length dress drinking tea out of bone china. And the next her room's been ransacked, she's leaping from a moving carriage, escaping from a wine cellar and held captive on a leper colony. You think you're reading about Arnold Schwartzenegger in the film "Eraser" with nonstop action, chases, and locked room conundrums, not to mention lots of clever ploys and devices, such as impersonations and the revolving disappearance of her family. Over all, THE PATRIOTE PROPOSITION is a fantastic look at Quebec and Northern New England in the 1830's. I look forward to the next book in this series.

The instant I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down. The Patriote Propostion had amazing action and mystery that kept me reading throughout the night. I had to get to the bottom of this whirlwind of constant excitement and gripping cliff-hangers. I never imagined a book could be so EXCITING!!!
