Not bad for the price,

This review is from: Patriotic Pinball (Video Game)
P.P. is not as good as the Pro Pinball games but it's not as bad as say, Kiss Pinball. The ball movement is OK although it occasionally accelerates way too suddenly. Graphic detail is pretty good and the two tables have a good number of bonus setups. It's a bit easy but has enough challenge to keep video pinball nuts amused. All in all, it's a worthy addition to my collection.

This review is from: Patriotic Pinball (Video Game)
Patriotic Pinball is one of those late late PS1 releases, when Sony no longer cared what about what was being released for their first console. During this period, some of the more "unusual"(and obscure) games were being put out(Three
Stooges, Slots, Sheep, One Piece Mansion, etc.) and many were 2D. Most of these games can be had for pretty cheap and while quality varies a bit, most of these games are pretty fun(gamers who are mostly familiar with more modern games might not agree with me). I recently picked up several of these titles including Patriotic Pinball. I've always enjoyed pinball games, whether in the arcades with the real machines or on computers and home consoles. PP features two tables, America on Duty and Roadtrip Coast to Coast. Each table features a choice of Novice, Regular, Arcade, and Tournament. Regular has 5-ball play/score match while Arcade has 3-ball play and no score match. Novice is an easier version of Regular while Tournament has standardized gameplay with no extra ball or score match. PP features 2D graphics and an angled view of the table instead of top-down(a la KISS PINBALL). The table scrolls slightly to follow the ball and the dot-matrix screen stays anchored to the top of the screen. The graphics are colorful but lack detail and the silver ball has a dull look to it. Gameplay is nowhere near as sharp and refined as the ProPinball series. The ball seems to lack weight and travel a bit too fast. Loading time is pretty long for each table. Both tables are loop and ramp heavy. There are several missions and tours along with 3 multi-ball modes to complete on each table. Overall this is a slightly below-average pinball experience. The two tables aren't very deep and offer some temporary fun that can feel repetitive rather quickly.

The screen moves ~ sligthly nauseating ~ and the game play is terrible. I would not recommend to anyone.
