5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Generation, June 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Patriots and Heroes (Paperback)
As the son of a 44 year veteran of the Merchant Marine, I visited the S.S. Jeremiah O'brien in San Francisco recently. She is a refurbished Liberty Ship honoring those who served aboard Liberty ships in Wolrd War II. The visit motivated me to buy this great book. Like Brokaw's The Greatest Generation it was a real eyeopener as to what our fathers and grandfathers went through as young men. If you enjoy Clancy, Griffin and the like you'll enjoy these true accounts and learn how important the Merchant Marine was in defeating Japan and Germany.
