This does not secure the door whether on carpet or regular floor. There is not enough rubber under unit to hold it from being pushed back. The door finally stops and maybe the (low) alarm goes off but now there's a good open area that allows a small person to get in. I had to duct mine down so it wouldn't move. I threw out the packaging and am going to eat this one!
