Duane's Tune is worth the price alone!,

Now I am what one would call an Allmaniac. All things Allman are sacred to me, so this review may be slightly biased. Seriously, I bought this album when it first came out and I played it until it bled. Dickey Betts has lined up a tremendous outfit and together they bring about some very tasty music. Warren Haynes pushes Dickey to new levels of playing and it quite obvious on Rockbottom and Duanes Tune. Matt Abts' drumming is incredible, and Johnny Neel brings some nice vocals to the table. If your in to Jambands and Southern Fusion than this recording is for you.

An important album,
This review is from: Pattern Disruptive (Audio CD)
This should be heard just for the fact that it was 3 parts future Allman Brothers (Betts, Warren Haynes and Jonny Neel) and 2 parts future Gov't Mule (Warren, again and Matt Abts). And it serves as a blueprint for the 90's rennaisance of the Allmans sounds as well as what was to come of the Mule.

80's Rock,

I really like this record, but it's not at all what you would expect from Dickey Betts. There isn't a trace of country in the entire album, and only a hint of blues. Instead, this record is pure 80's power rock. If you remember how guitar rock sounded in 1988 (when this was recorded), you will appreciate this record. If you are expecting another country-flavored "Highway Call", or some straight-ahead Allman Bros blues, forget it, this record will disappoint you. But if you enjoy hard rocking guitar, this record features two of the best in Betts and Haynes. One more reason you may be interested in this record... I believe this is one of the earliest recorded pairings of Warren Haynes and Matt Abts. They, along with bassist Allen Woody, would later form the power-trio-jam-band, Gov't Mule.

Great Dickey Betts Solo Album,
By
This review is from: Pattern Disruptive (Audio CD)
PATTERN DISRUPTIVE is a great solo album by Dickey Betts. It's harder-edged than his 70s work with the Allman Brothers Band, but that doesn't matter, because that band's influence is very much in abundance here. The best song on this CD is "Time To Roll", which features co-guitarist Warren Haynes on lead vocals. Given that both Betts and Haynes advocate sanctions against Indonesia in retaliation for that country's trumped-up drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist, one could say that Haynes is telling his woman, "You planned a Bali vacation for us, so I'm leaving you and moving on." This is a great CD, so pick it up if you find it.

The Dickey Betts Band "Pattern Disruptive",
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pattern Disruptive (Audio CD)
An excellent example of one of the original guitarists from the Allman Brothersdoing what he does best which is writing songs, singing and playing guitar. It's been more than 20 years since this album was released and it still has the freshness and raw bluesy sound which echoes throughout each track, a true masterpiece..... The Allman Brothers are sorely missing a creative force without Dickey Betts. A must CD for the true southern rock fan, from "Rock Bottom" to "Far Cry" and "Duanes Tune" to "Lover Man" this project is hard to beat......4 stars

Dickey Shines!,

Not sure why Dickey named this album "Pattern Disruptive", but the guitar work is great. My favorite is the instrumental "Duane's Tune", which really shows Dickey's writing ability. This album is a must for Dickey Betts fans.

duanes tune is a very very good song. this band is very talented. that being said, these guys dont sound like a great band. they sound like they should be doing songs for soundtracks for 80's movies. i mean listen to it--they sound like they should be played during the credits of spaceballs or wierd science. i am an ALLMANIAC (peachhead) as well, but this sounds neither like dickey's nor greg's style. i like dickey betts & great southern better.
