5.0 out of 5 stars Critical and creative thinking through training, August 14, 2001
This review is from: Patterns for Thinking, Patterns for Transfer: A Cooperative Team Approach for Critical and Creative Thinking in the Classroom (Paperback)
Students can be trained to be more creative and critical thinkers. The purpose of modern education needs to be to train in the how, not just facts. Facts will change, how to think will not. Although geared to educators, this book would also be useful for parents and any adult who wants to improve his or her thinking. The four elements the authors use to teach thinking are climate, skill, interaction, an processing. This is a thick book, with lots of practice exercises and other ideas to spur creativity and critical thinking.
