5.0 out of 5 stars They don't call it 'Patton' for nothing.
This fan is incredibly powerful. It can definitely move air around a room. My one call out is that there is almost no difference between low and medium. I don't know if it's just mine that is that way or not and it isn't a big deal since I bought it to ease the air conditioner bill and I'll tell ya, when you want to cool a room this fan does it with out remorse.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor substitute for original PATTON high velocity, July 25, 2006
This review is from: Patton 14" High Velocity Floor Fan, U2-1403-UC (Kitchen)
Back in the mid 1980's I bought a Patton 14 inch high velocity fan; although this fan i am reviewing uses the same name, it is not at all nearly as good as the original. The original actually

had three different speeds ;while this one uses three speeds, they are hardly distinquishable from each other; the original was of heavier gauge and would not topple as easily as this new version. The original fan model had a fan which cut more deeply because the fins stood out more and hence the original blew the air much more powerfully than this new version. Oh, yes the original's lowest speed was actually quiet whereas none of the speeds on this new version is quiet. Bad substitute and mediocre fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars Patton Fans Suck, not Blow......., June 25, 2006

I bought a 20" Patton fan in the mid 1980's, used it 24/7 year round, and it lasted 15 years. It was a very well built fan, and the speed control produced major variations between the low, medium, and high settings. The low setting moved copious amounts of air and was VERY QUIET.

I just bought this 14" model and it's a cheaply made piece of junk, but what can you expect from something made in China?? The speed control has very little range, and the fan is almost as noisy on low as it is on high. DO NOT purchase this fan for use anywhere you might sleep, or need a quiet source of air movement such as in a TV room, etc. They are best suited for a small shop, or outside while BBQing to keep the mosquitos blown into the neighbor's yard.

The Chinese don't use enough padding and filler inside the box to secure the fan during shipment, so be advised the fan has plenty of room to flop around inside the factory box. Add to that the poor packaging Amazon uses to add a second box for shipment to the customer, and you have what amounts to potential shipping damage. Looks like the job some clowns do when shipping items they sell on eBay.

To their credit, the fans are inexpensive and move more air than much larger fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars fan speed differences, May 2, 2011
This review is from: Patton 14" High Velocity Floor Fan, U2-1403-UC (Kitchen)
the reason this fan has very little difference between speeds is the blades arent pitched enough from the factory!if you bend the blades to more of a pitch it makes the fan quiter it blows way more air and the speeds are more separated, try this, you will be amazed!

I have owned a similar Patton fan for many years now and it has run 24/7 many a day to circulate the house. It finally died.

Though it can be a bit loud at times, I wouldn't trade it for an off brand. It is a hard, reliable worker. I am sure I paid upward of $60 for mine many years ago and have never been disappointed. You can't go wrong with free shipping either!!

I ahve had this fan for about two years now and run it 24 hrs/day. Still good as new. Much stronger than a box type or oscillating room fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent consumer choice, August 9, 2007
If you need to lower your room temperature and dont mind a little noise, this puppy alone will drop the temp (mid-size home) about 3-8 degrees.

This is one of the better fans on the market I have found and I swear by it.5-year warranty in most places. Most fans give you 1 year or less.

AIR POWER--- this fan levitates small objects about a foot off the fan itself with relative ease.Do I need to say more?

Only caveat, the legs could be made better, tends to vibrate a lot on high and difficult to get inside to get built up dust and etc. out after over 1 yr of use.(in a typical house)

Worth the money.Two thumbs up.
