This is the most powerful fan I have ever seen for the consumer market. You can actually suspend a beach ball over the column of air. It is quite noisy on high speed, but the return in air movement is just compensation. I bought my Patton on July 4, 1996. That day, in Dallas, it was a typical 100 degrees F and my air conditioner died. This fan was my only relief. It has been very reliable ever since. A word of warning: I broke my little toe on the heavy steel frame one night while navigating my apartment in total darkness. Ouch!

I bought this fan as everybody else did thinking this would be a nice fan that would last me for a long time I bought it last year and it didnt ever last me two seasons. I turn it on and it runs fine for a while then it gets hot and shuts down. So needless to say it is no god to me now I dont dare leave it on all night for fear it will short out or something like that. I only use it in my bed room at night and that is it so it is not used 24 7 so it has not been beat on. I bought a new one of a diffrent brand and have not had a problem with it . I know two diffrent people who bought the same kind of fan and theirs did the same thing. In my opinion it was not a good value for the money I paid for it it really dissapointed me.

This fan is GREAT! I have had a patton fan on my patio for about 8 years. I have left it out in the rain on several occasions and it still runs great. I will never buy another brand of fan.
