Incredible!!!,

This review is from: Paul Anderson: The Mightiest Minister (Paperback)
Very thoroughly researched. Gives a lot of insight into who Paul Anderson was. Does a very complete job of making the case for many of Anderson's unofficial lifts being legit.Paul Anderson was simply an amazing person and the story of how he dedicated his life to Christ while at the peak of his lifting career and how he used his physical gifts to help troubled teens is very inspirational.

There is a great story to this man, but this book didn't tell it. It is a collection of articles written about Anderson. Several are interesting and well written. Several are neither.

I read a book by Paul Anderson a few years ago called "A Greater Strength", and was fascinated and inspired by his story. This bio goes further into his feats of strength, and lifting career. It's full of wonderful photographs as well. It's probably more suited to someone interested in weight lifting, whereas "A Greater Strength" would inspire anyone. Nice tribute to a fine human being.

Strongest Man Who Ever Lived,

This review is from: Paul Anderson: The Mightiest Minister (Paperback)
There are so many claimants to the title of the strongest man who ever lived. No one ever on record lifted a weight close to the 6,000 plus pounds that Paul Anderson did. Witnessed! He was so much more, and the book illuminates what athletes and people should be. He should never be forgotten, and anyone honest about strength records knows that "The Dixie Derrick" was the strongest ever. A must read.

I have been a giant Paul Anderson fan since he rose to fame in the '50's. I was even more impressed with his work with his Paul Anderson Youth Home. I was fortunate enough to see him perform in person one time in Dallas and have never seen such brute strength. This book is a must for anyone interested in the Paul Anderson story.
