Though the other review of this is accurate to a point, It certainly doesn't bore to tears...this is a very cool DVD, especially if your a guitarist that likes Pauls stuff and few don't ; )

Paul Gilbert is quite simply one of the worlds best guitarist and on this DVD he shows you a bit of why and how as well as the band in action....Highly recommended!

he is the master. so versitile, unique and fun to listen to. sometimes he borders into the no feel zone, but here on this live release, he stays true to his abilities and lays down the law. great tunes, and great backup from linus and marco. alternate takes are cool, too!

not really anything like this, live in the studio setting. great!

Spaceship Live

You will find most of the tracks off this dvd on youtube but it is much easier to play the dvd and see Gilbert in action. Pause and replay those tracks and attempt to play them yourself!! Only in my dreams!

Note this is live in a studio and apart from the bonus tracks, Gilbert gives each track a short intro!

Non region so play it anywhere!

As you'd expect with a Paul Gilbert "Live" DVD, the band is tight and the playing is excellent. When I see the word "Live" in a music title, I think "in concert". Surprise, it's live in a studio, no audience! It comes across more as like an instructional video than a live video. Each song has an intro by Gilbert, demonstrating a riff from the song and telling what key it's in before actually playing it. They play the whole thing in the space outfits they wear on the cover of "Spacehip One". To say I was disappointed is an understatement, it bores to tears. I hate to say anything negative about Paul, but avoid this one, get one of his earlier live dvd's or the "Spaceship One" cd.
