About the Author

Bill Harry was the first person to write about Paul McCartney on a regular basis. He first met Paul in 1958 and began to chronicle the Beatles rise from local to international fame in his publication Mersey Beat from 1961. Paul wrote regularly to him and the encyclopaedia reproduces extracts from Paul's letters about his experience backing a stripper, travelling to France with John Lennon and his first trip to Hamburg. In 500,000 words and almost 2,000 separate entries, the Paul McCartney Encyclopedia is the result of interviews and research conducted over a forty-year period. Harry is the world's leading authority on the Beatles. He attended the Liverpool College of Arts with John Lennon and is the author or a number of books on the Beatles, including the sister volumes, the Beatles Encyclopedia and the Lennon Encyclopedia both published by Virgin Books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Covers All Of McCartney's Music, Charities And Everything Paul, April 7, 2006

This review is from: The Paul McCartney Encyclopedia (Paperback)
Bill Harry thoroughly details all of McCartney's songs, records, tours, friends, pets, studios, producers and charities. It includes wonderful biographies of Linda and Heather Mills McCartney. You can learn about his many animal rights endeavors, his vegetarianism and numerous other charitable causes that he promotes. Every other Paul McCartney book is utterly incomplete. Bill Harry's comprehensive research is laudable, commendable and a must buy for any Paul McCartney fan.

I am relly pleased at how effecient Amazon is on mailing the product. As I live in Brazil it took a while to get to my house. However, that didn't stop Amazon from bringing my book in complete, no scratches, dents or defects condition. With this outcome Amazon can be sure to receive more purchases from me and I will spread the word on to people I know. Thank you for bringing my book.
