This review is from: Paul Mccarthy: Piccadilly Circus, Bunker Basement (Hardcover)
First off. Mr. McCarthy if you are reading this. I've been trying to get in touch with you about an interview. I've sent numerous letters and messages to your UCLA office. Thank you.
Mr. Mccarthy does it again. This time he's a corrupt United States president. G.W.! It's actually two books. P. Circus and Bunker Basement. My favorite is B.B. Which takes place in L.A. inside his studio. Our hero has created a two story(funhouse/Jail?) complete with dreary color, stairs, rooms and tables. In it G.W. and friends proceeds to...go at it. It's complete and total mayhem...including dancing, food throwing, violence and my favorite self mutilation. I can't get enough of paul McCarthy. His work is like a blow torch to "everything I know about art". And at 60 he shows no signs of letting up! |
