This is by far the BEST flat iron I have ever used, and I've tried many. Solia, Chi, Ion, that one they were advertising on TV for a while (but don't anymore? Because the thing kept BREAKING!) and some other ones I don't remember. I have thick, course, curly, and super damaged hair. I went to a professional stylist one day, and she made my hair gorgeous. Trimmed the ends, fixed the color, and gave me great advice on flat ironing techniques. I had to ask her what she was using, because I was fed up with my flat irons. She told me Paul Mitchell, she swears by it. I went to folica first, but was glad I decided to shop around because it's almost 100 dollars less on amazon, and that is an amazing price for this flat iron.
I also, from time to time, straighten my boyfriend's long, thick, curly hair (he's hispanic). He's so happy with it too, because now he has "metal" hair, which is good for windmilling at shows I suppose!
If you're on the fence about this flat iron, let me convince you, I was at the end of my rope. I dye my hair, and have for about 5 years now, and was seriously considering chemical straightening (BAD IDEA!!!!!). Thank goodness I went to my stylist first. Even when I do it myself, this flat iron makes my hair silky, soft, and it has great movement.
