New - for me anyway- discovery., June 28, 2009

Moravec's music was recommended on a music forum I frequent. I'd never heard of him, but checked out some sound clips, liked what I heard and ordered three cd's of his music. Very glad I did.
20th century music, but tonally oriented, and with melodic content. It ain't just "sound sculptures". Though he's certainly not a jazz musician, I hear in his music that Moravec is of the very few composers who seems to have at least some grasp of what jazz is about. Listen for yourself. Moravec is definitely worth checking out. Good sound quality too.
