Book Description

March 1989
This thoroughly researched biography of the life and multiple careers of Paul Newman-actor, director, champion car racer, food entrepreneur, political activist, and philanthropist-reveals an admirable man intent on proving that there is more to him than his piercing blue eyes. As his biographer, Elena Oumano has appeared in numerous television programs devoted to the late star, including the A&E Channel's "Biography".

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Newman--actor, director, entrepreneur, race car driver, political activist, and family man--is such an intriguing character that there have been a multitude of books and magazine articles about him. This one, simply written and not bad to read adds no new information or insight to the already existing works. The author starts out with a quick laundry list of Newman's achievements and then goes on to discuss fairly yet sympathetically every film, TV, play, or other project that the actor was involved in, while weaving in standard biographical fare. Not recommended for purchase unless you are the site for the Paul Newman fan club. Literary Guild selection.
