This review is from: Paul Thek: Artist's Artist (Hardcover)
This is a fantastic book. Everything you want to know about Paul Thek is in here. I was surprised when the book arrived how huge it is. 640 pages of pure goodness makes that the best Thek book out their. (Unless you have a bad back.)

5.0 out of 5 stars An artist for everybody, September 12, 2009

This review is from: Paul Thek: Artist's Artist (Hardcover)
As an old friend of Paul Thek from the 60ies in Rome until the 80ies in New York I can only say that I loved the man and the artist. Thanks to him, I knew how an artist comes to life and he allowed me to see his creative process almost being a part of it with him (paintings, bronze sculptures). This book is something I was waiting for a long time.
Every artist should check "Paul Thek: Artist's Artist".

4.0 out of 5 stars Paul Thek: Artist's Artist, February 12, 2010

This review is from: Paul Thek: Artist's Artist (Hardcover)
This very comprehensive volume is a fine example and excellent model of how to compile
informative, often obscure information about an artist, his work and life,
between the covers of a single book.

Paul Thek, the artist's artist was an individual creative force who explored the unknown,
often overshadowed by his
contemporaries, such as Warhol, Johns, Rauchenberg, and Lichentenstein to name but a few.

His art seldom extended throughout the art world to the much publized degree of many of his
contemporaries.
yet it has withstood the test of time and he remains in my mind to be among the finest American
artists of the 20th Century.

This book rewards to him a long overdue, deserved recognition among his peers.
