Comprehensive release from one of the most popular DJ/Composer/Performers in the world. Paul Van Dyk is a major reason why Trance has emerged as perhaps the world's most popular form of electronic music.

This release includes a DVD highlighting 13 Paul Van Dyk Compositions along with an audio CD of the same tracks. The video is primarily a travelogue showing footage from throughout the world which serves to showcase the worldwide appeal of Paul's music. There is also footage of Paul performing on stage although this is somewhat limited which is perhaps just as well since there is not as much of a visual aspect to a DJ performing live compared to a live band. The crowd shots do however show the excitement generated by Paul's music. The DVD also includes 5 complete, uncut Paul Van Dyk Videos along with a short 5 minute interview with Paul as well as a short documentary showing comments from his fans. The are also some clips advertising various movies that Paul has composed music for.

I would encourage any Paul Van Dyk fans to consider purchasing this as well as anyone interested in finding out more about his music or as introduction to Trance or Electronic music in general. Basically, for about the price of a CD you get the CD plus the DVD.

i cant believe the value for money with this, i paid around 18 and, got a full length cd and dvd of paul van dyk's greatest hits. i must confess i only heard a song or two....but when i saw all that this combo included and the price, i snatched it up. The music is as good as trance gets and there is also a 5.1 studio and live mixes of the cd. As a bonus, there is also a DTS track of the whole greatest hits...you havent heard trance till u hear it with surround DTS. Im loving this. The 5.1 mix is track by track at different locations around the world...its really global. Id highly recommend this to any dance/trance fan...or anyone who likes good music in general.

You get a CD and a DVD of Van Dyk's best tracks, in Red Book CD, Dolby Digital 5.1, DD 2.0, and in a DTS 5.1 studio track with mindblowing low end. The movie is awsome. Gotta love those Japanese ravers...the most unconditionally excited and positive group you'll ever see. Then they even throw in the separate videos for those tracks that have them and an interview with PVD himself. Every other artist on the planet should follow this guy's example and give their fans releases like this, not the endless flood of EP's, remix samplers, and DVD singles that are obviously marketing ploys to lure collectors and obsessive fans (read that: potential stalkers). Global sets a standard.

This is a great gift for thoe who love PVD or dance music. Excellent live scenes from around the world concerts w/ PVD!!

This DVD/CD combo is worth every dollar. I have seen Paul Van Dyk 4 times within the past 2 years here in Miami, Florida; The last time was November 2003. Rated the number #2 DJ in the world and this DVD/CD shows you why. This DVD/CD has plenty to offer, live footage, videos, extras...

PVD ~ Global ~ "Trance all over the world"

Highly recommended!

I was looking forward to this DVD as it would be like going out to a club, but in your house! Don't be fooled by these PVD junkies, this DVD does not deliver and here's why: A huge disappointment to me and my friends, the music is not synched with the videos! They basically show videos of PVD performing in a club/arena/elsewhere and play his music from his CDs as opposed to playing the music from that performance.

Basically, there's no energy or live feel to this dvd. If you want to see a rave or a club, get the Underworld DVD or go to one!

Gosh, I've played this CD to folks who have never heard trance much less ever heard of PVD and they've loved it. One example was my old school boss who heard it when I gave him a lift one day. He found it upbeat, cheerful and relaxing all at the same time. He asked me the cd info and got his own copy. He later shared that he had played it for his wife who was equally pleased. Even if you're familiar with PVD and this type of music I think you'll find that you won't get tired of hearing this cd and watching the enclosed DVD over and over. Its a solid example of trance music and PVD's work.

This DVD will no matter what be loved by PVD fans, it is is comprised of some of his lighter trance. I enjoyed the music a lot. However I honestly couldnt make it through 10 minutes of watching it becuase it is just clips from his parties across the world. I ended up cranking it up and just cleaning my house. Overall a good dvd to listen to for studying or background, but hard to watch it. I still reccomend it. I am a huge PVD fan.

Where do I start??? Loved the dvd! This dvd takes you around the world and back with world reknown d.j. Paul Van Dyk. There's only one gripe I have: The tracks you hear on the dvd aren't the actual tracks that Paul's playing at the club/party you're looking at. It would have been alot more realistic and exciting if you could here the mixes and some of the tracks he actually played/mixed at those parties.

The trance is outstanding. All of Paul's best hits are on the dvd and on the bonus c.d. You won't be disappointed for the price. It's also a great dvd to play during any party. I reccommend playing this dvd on a sorround sound system that has great bass.

Paul litterally takes you around the world. You'll see tons of outstanding locations/parties. The people and scenes make you want to be there. If you've ever been to large scale rave parties, then you need this dvd. Talk about bringing back memories. You'll love it!
