This is a wonderful collection of well played and equally well filmed perfomances. I just watched the whole way through and am so delighted to have this. I own all of Weller's other DVDs and its amazing that so much film on this great artist is available and without the repeats from disc to disc...none of this material is on his other easily available DVDs..making it truly worthwhile.

Its hard for me to find favorites on this couple of hours...the Later in concert show from '96 has a bunch of acoustic performances from Wild Wood so that is fun...his duet with notoriously screwed up Amy Whinehouse on a more recent show is ...fascinating and pretty cool. The TOP OF THE POPS stuff is very fun and the big finish with a recent tamborine slapping version of A Town Called Malice a great finish to a very awesome collection..

It took me a while to decide to order this DVD. I already owned the four-disc CD box set of the same name and with the same picture on the cover. But I like seeing Weller and his bands live, and the price eventually dropped to a more reasonable level than where it had been sitting, so I took a chance on it. And do you know what? It turned out to be a gamble well taken, for this edition of Paul Weller At the BBC turns out to be one of the most memorable and action packed music DVDs that I have bought in some time. And it largely does not reprise what you get in the CD set!
The live sets on Paul Weller At the BBC cover a period of performances filmed and recorded between 1992 and 2008. So the listener hears/sees Weller pretty much in peak form in a variety of settings. You get nearly two hours worth of music, and if there was a single song I disliked, I don't recall what it was. Weller and his bands give their all as is usual.
I can't imagine anyone who enjoys Brit-pop at its best and good, solid rock and roll not liking this DVD. Its well-filmed, well-recorded, and is worth every penny. Get it now while it is still available. Its release was rather limited, so I assume it will be sold out soon just as the CD set was.

Love this single-disc BBC collection of Paul Weller's best TV performances over the solo years since the '90s. Very pleased we can play it OK in the USA too!!

Having been a fan of Paul Weller for years, but never having seen him perform live, it's a real treat to be able to see Weller and his band performing at different points in time for these various BBC broadcasts.

Besides the sixteen or so appearances on "Later..." and TotPs that span 15 years (93-08), there are two different longer live performances included, one from 1996 and one from 2006. These give you a real taste of the live dynamic of Weller and Co separated by 10 years.

There is some repetition of tracks here. Didn't really bother me. I like having all these performances on one DVD.

Paul Weller has done it again with this terrific release.
I couldn't imagine any performance matching his incredible Hyde Park DVD
but he comes very close here.As stated above the video & sound are excellent
& it's always great to see Jools Holland involved in the action.
The only disapointing aspect were the songs from 2008 ("Push It Along" & "22 Dreams")
they are just not up to the mark, (nor is his terrible "Wake Up The Nation" album from 2010)
a situation not helped by sacking the best backing band he ever had.
The soundtracks provided are adequate (Dolby 2.0 & Dolby 5.1) ,but would have been
vastly improved with LPCM stereo &/or DTS 5.1 & as such have downgraded my rating to 4 stars.

I don't know why we didn't hear more of his music in the USA. I learned of him when he had The Style Council. I am enjoying this wonderful DVD and catching up on all his music.
