Poorly made kettle.,

After each use the enamel flakes off the sides exposing a rough black subsurface. I've had this kettle for 10 days! Too bad. Sweet design, but cheaply made (like so many products these days).

The teakettle came and was gorgeous - the red is rich and beautiful. The shape of the tea kettle is very elegant. Then on the second time of using, the teakettle stuck to the burner and the bottom of the enamel crinkled and fell off!! The kettle does NOT withstand heat sturdily. The kettle is pretty and still works for me, but I feel the quality is greatly lacking. I would definitely not recommend anyone to buy this, even though it is quite beautiful.

Nice style but poorly made,

I'm in the market for a new teakettle to replace my Paula Deen. I loved the style and color of the red kettle but was disappointed to have the red paint chipping off so quickly, within a few weeks of purchase. After a year of more paint lose and a loosening handle I also found the inside had rust rings forming. Needless to say, that kettle went out in the trash. Until I read the reviews on Amazon I thought mine was an isolated case of a poorly made teakettle. Apparently not, since others have mentioned very similar conditions. Now it's back to reading reviews and searching for the perfect kettle to sit on my stove.

the teakettle that shows its mettle,

This is a sturdy, eye-catching tea kettle which promises to last a long time without getting bowed and unsteady at the base. Through use, cheaper kettles get rounded underneath and become unfit for ceramic cooktops which require flat-bottomed cookware. While the lid is snug needing some yanking to lift off, that is not necessarily a bad feature for those of us who have, when the lid was loose, poached our fingers with escaping steam. The kettle can easily be filled through the spout. The handle is securely attached and the grip elevated to avoid getting heated.

I LOVE the look of this teakettle! I was looking for something different than all the others and this looked like it.
However, the function of the kettle is not that good. It seems very slow to heat the water (especially when stove is set lower than "high" as recommended). Also, the balance of the kettle is weird. You have to practically stand on your head to pour the water out. AND, most importantly...when the kettle is low on water (like 1/4 full) and you go to pour, the water seems to splash against the spout causing a little burst of steaming-hot water to shoot out! If you are holding your cup, your hand could easily be burned!

I had this kettle for a year. The design is great, but the materials were so cheap that after a year's use (I used it at least once a day), I decided to just throw it away. The part that the handle is attached to is aluminum and it is flimsy. It also didn't seem safe to continue using. I noticed that each time I wiped the inside dry, my white paper towel would become dark gray! Brown flakes would also develop at the bottom of the pot on occasion. I was very disappointed with this product and am looking for a new tea kettle as I write this review.

I absolutely love my Paula Deen teakettle. It is so pretty in my kitchen. It pours so smoothly unlike others I have had. I would definately recommend this to anyone who doesn't want a whistling teakettle.

Decent Quality, Works Well, Could Have Been Better,

If you want a nice looking tea kettle with large capacity, this may fit your order. A little more pricey than some, we liked the blue option. The only thing we were pretty disappointed with is that the description says "steel" and the kettle is in fact made of steel, but where the handles attach to the kettle are two small polished metal looking "covers". These sadly turned out to be plastic painted or covered with chrome paint. After some use, they warped and changed appearance a bit. For the cost, these very small items should have been metal and would have made the product a very nice quality. I didn't want to give it two stars, though, and it has been boiling plenty of water for about a year now. If you are not very picky about that small detail appearance, you will probably be very happy with it. The handle took a couple of uses to get adjusted to, but I don't notice it anymore, and the spout is well formed and placed and works great. Still feels like it is going to last many years.

This kettle does what a kettle should do! Just noisy enough to let you know that your water is ready and not loud enough to be annoying. The handle is fixed in the up position, doesn't matter to me but maybe to others. I was afraid that the porcelain might crack easily but so far it still looks wonderful and is easy to clean.
I'm glad I got the orange color which is kind of more rusty/pumpkiny than orange.

I love the lines and the color. The black flecks help to soften the orange so it's not too bright. Two quarts is really big. The handle stays in the up position, it doesn't move. The finish is nice inside and out.
