2.0 out of 5 stars Great pan, for awhile
I loved this pan, at first. It is a great size, great color, great weight, wonderful lid and has even heat distribution. My love quickly faded after I've had the pan less then six months and the bottom non stick coating is flaking off into food. I have only ever used the special blue sponges to clean it and have never used metal tools to stir or scoop anything off the...

Very nice pan good quality, much better than the Walmart brand of Paula Deen. The Paula Deen at Walmart is cheaper made the handles are weaker because they are flat.this one and the set I bought at JC Penny have two ribs on the handle to make it stronger also these have rings to hang them if you want to,Walmart brand does not. This pan cooks evenly and fast my wife really loves this cookware she has the whole set now and is very happy with the way they cook and the way she can hang them up out of the way. They also look very nice hanging in the kitchen.I think anyone would be happy with this cookware, but I would not buy the Walmart brand of Paula Deen pay the extra few dollars and get the ones with the better and stronger handles. Thanks Amazon for good service and product.

5.0 out of 5 stars saute pan review, February 14, 2010

This review is from: Paula Deen 5 Quart Porcelain Covered Deep Saute Pan, Red (Kitchen)
i was very iffy about buying new cookware because i know what i like and don't like. i saw the paula deen cookware in walmart but they didn't have what i wanted on shelf so i went home and purchased it online. i received my product very quickly but because it looked so beautiful, i was afraid to use it at first and it sat on the stove for decoration. I have since used it and am completely satisfied with the non stick surface, the perfectly even way it warms/cooks food, the rubber grips to lift the lid and pot are not hot, and it looks like the handle will not loosen itself like other pots i had. these pots and pans are beautiful to look at and absolutely dreamy to cook with. i love them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased, December 22, 2009

This has become my favorite pan. The size is just right for just about anything. Great size for making country gravy or frying hashbrowns. The construction and finish is great. I would recommend this to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great pan, for awhile, November 9, 2011

I loved this pan, at first. It is a great size, great color, great weight, wonderful lid and has even heat distribution. My love quickly faded after I've had the pan less then six months and the bottom non stick coating is flaking off into food. I have only ever used the special blue sponges to clean it and have never used metal tools to stir or scoop anything off the bottom. I have no idea why this would happen so fast. I'm so disappointed. I guess I will stay with paying the extra money for pans that have more staying power.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Covered Skillet, November 28, 2010
By
This review is from: Paula Deen 5 Quart Porcelain Covered Deep Saute Pan, Red (Kitchen)
This is my first Paula Deen cookware purchase. I love it! This skillet is made well and feels like a piece of quality cookware. The price is set nicely. So many times I have a non-stick pan and replace it after 2-4 years of frequent use as the non-stick wears off. This price line does not make me cringe knowing that I am having to replace non-sticks. Mind you I have had my Revere Ware pots for 25 years! The weight of this large pan is easily manuvered in picking up the skillet or pouring the skillet. I love the deep red color and the copper embellishment on the lid handle. This skillet heats evenly, does not stick and is a breeze to clean.(Especially since it is a larger skillet and is not heavy.) I am looking for a Paula Deen 2 quart saucepan to complete my set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this pan, June 25, 2011

This review is from: Paula Deen 5 Quart Porcelain Covered Deep Saute Pan, Red (Kitchen)
Purchased this pan in addition to many Paula Deen items and the pan set. I wanted a larger pan to make sauces and such in and this one is perfect. I only use wooden, plastic or silicone utensils in it and hand wash it and it still looks brand new even months later. I got it in the red color and it's gorgeous and by hand washing it have not had the issue other people have complained about with red pans of them changing color after running through dishwasher.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite pan!, January 13, 2011

I normally shy away from the "celebrity chef" cookware lines since they're typically normal pans with a jacked up price tag because of slapping someone's mug on the box... however, my roommate owns this pan and I have fallen head over heels for it. It's the perfect size, the walls are just the right height--I've made everything from quesadillas to curries in it. Cooks evenly, heavy, sturdy, wonderful. It's my go-to pan when cooking anything. I get sad when I reach for a pan and realize this one is dirty, forcing me to choose another. The roommate is currently condo-hunting with his girlfriend... I will be replacing this pan pronto when he moves out (or maybe he'll have conveniently lost it when he goes to pack...)

Paint was chipping off of the pan when it was delivered and the quality was just not there. I was very disappointed with this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice pan but..., January 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Paula Deen 5 Quart Porcelain Covered Deep Saute Pan, Red (Kitchen)
This is a very nice pan that cooks well, however it is not dishwasher safe and not recommended for high heat. The non-stick surface works well and the pan is very stylish looking with the copper accented top. Unfortunately per the instructions the porcelain enamel-exterior it is not dishwasher safe and "excessive use of high heat will cause pan warping and permanent nonstick coating damage". Had I known these issues before hand I would not have purchased this pan. If your have no issues with hand washing this pan after each use and can be vigilant with temperature usage while cooking then I'm sure you will be very content with this product.

I love, love, love this pan!!! Yes, it's lightweight but, after using Le Creuset for many years, I am getting to the point where it's just too heavy to be comfortable for me to lift and use. Just because the Paul Deen pan is "light" doesn't mean it's flimsy. I adore it and use it every day. Nothing sticks to it....and I mean nothing. Easy easy to clean up - no scrubbing ever. I've had mine for close to a year and am going to buy the entire set....like now. :)
