After buying this pot thinking it would be great for soups and chili, I found that everything burns very easily in it. The second time I used it, the enamel on the bottom stuck to my stove at low heat while cooking chili and came off with the burner attached. The burner is ruined and the pot has a huge chunk missing out of the bottom now. I wouldn't recommend this pot to anyone when I can probably buy some cheap off brand pot at a dollar store that is better quality.

We bought this stockpot because it seemed like a decent quality item and looked good. After using it, that is where the good stopped. Food is easily burned through the thin bottom...I actually burned meat that was in 1/2 gallon of water! Not easy to clean, especailly when you burn something on.

Despite 12 quarts of broth, food stuck to bottom. Burnt and destroyed the enamel. So angry just tossed it in the garbage, WHERE IT BELONGS

I love Paula Deen's pots and love my set but this pot is horrible. From the beginning it burned everything I cooked in it. I read the instructions and did not ever put extreme temperature water or anything in it. As of today, it's in the trash due to it basically exploding on me. White stuff popped like popcorn when i put warm water in the warm pot. Hated this pot from the beginning. Have all her other things and love them but no one waste money or their eyes on this one. Love you Paula!!!!! Sorry

My wife, who is a great cook, used this for the first time tonight, and we had to throw out 16 quarts of soup that was going to be our meals during the upcoming work week. All the vegetables and pasta burned to the bottom of the pot and it started smoking bad enough to set off the smoke detector. We make a lot of soups and stews, and have never had this happen before. Not happy with this, and definitely never buying another one! Wish I'd bought it here where I could've read the reviews first!

I got this pot as a gift two years ago. I returned it the first time because the lid fell into the sink and chipped the enamel. I did an even trade at a store. The second time I had to return the pot because the enamel melted on the bottom damaging my glass top stove, since I didn't have a receipt, all I could do is even trade, so I got the same pot again. I figured it was just a fluke. Surely i just happened to get two poorly made pots. The third time while cooking a pot of clam chowder I heard a strange pop noise twice. The bottom of the pot had popped outward and then back inward after I removed it from the burner. My soup tasted fine, but today while washing it I realize that there is a chunk of enamel from the INSIDE of the pot missing...most likely somewhere in my soup leftovers! DON'T BUY THIS POT! It is a waste of $40! I'm writing the company requesting a refund! does Paula Deen know her pots are such poor quality?

It cannot be used for canning purposes. Everything seems to burn in it. I tried to make homemade ketchup in it and the entire bottom is black even though I used low heat. I have soaked it now for 3 days with laundry detergent, oxyclean, baking soda, vinegar,Dawn detergent, etc. and nothing has helped. I'll have to ruin it to get the black debris out of it. I bought 2 of them and wasted my money.

I bought this stockpot at Wal-mart for around $40. Boiled potatoes stuck to the bottom of the pot the first time I used it. It took a lot of elbow grease with a gentle sponge to scrub it away. I used it about once a week for a few months, always experiencing the burnt bottom effect. The bottom gradually got darker. Today I boiled a chicken, and of coarse when I got to the bottom of the pot it was burnt. When I went to scrub it with a soft sponge, the enamel coating peeled off. I am beyond annoyed. I always take care of my kitchen items. The stockpot was never put in the dishwasher, never had a metal spoon used in it, and was never touched by an abrasive sponge. What a waste!! 5 months of use, and now it is unsafe to use. This product has finally made me accept that I must buy high end kitchen appliances, because this stockpot was a rip off.

Didn't buy this on Amazon, but like another reviewer I wish I had checked here first. Wanted a stock pot for chicken stock and chili and soup, but this burned food during each use and discolored almost immediately. The enamel started flaking off after a couple months and we had to throw it out. Waste of money.

I ordered this the first time and it came defected w/a bad spot on the bottom where the enamel looked like it was grind-ed off. I sent it back and just received my replacement yesterday. IT WAS WORSE!! it had 3-4 spots on the pot that looked to be grind-ed off. WHATS UP? Don't you check your product before sending it out. And whats worse is its sold/shipped through AMAZON.COM, not a company I've never dealt with!
