I had a different (non stick Revere 12" skillet) with a lid. I babied it and the surface still fell apart! :( After looking for another one (to go with the lid I already had)...I could NOT find one. I especially couldn't find a skillet without the non stick surface. So, I had to buy one by mail-order instead>< This skillet is more rounded than the Revere ware, so the lid does not fit snuggly. But, it does all right. I really like this skillet for its stainless steel surface...none of this non stick stuff that never lasts><
