Pauline Frommer's Cancun && the Yucatan travel book
Christine Delsol did an outstanding job combining out of the way places to visit in this area, along with excellent sources to research and very interesting histories that would be hard to find elsewhere. Her recommendations were well documented and give the traveler a good overview of what to expect in each area visited. This provides the tourist with sample itineraries...

entertaining reading home, poor company in Yucatán
My conclusion after a 10 days trip to Yucatán with this book and the Lonely Planet at hand: there is little in the "Spend less, See more" book that you won't find in the Lonely Planet while the Lonely contains more useful information. If at all, buy it for an entertaining read home and maybe for the few pearls it may offer (the Maya village on p. 144 is not...

Christine Delsol did an outstanding job combining out of the way places to visit in this area, along with excellent sources to research and very interesting histories that would be hard to find elsewhere. Her recommendations were well documented and give the traveler a good overview of what to expect in each area visited. This provides the tourist with sample itineraries to consider that would be of most interest and satisfy budget constraints as well. WELL DONE!

My conclusion after a 10 days trip to Yucatán with this book and the Lonely Planet at hand: there is little in the "Spend less, See more" book that you won't find in the Lonely Planet while the Lonely contains more useful information. If at all, buy it for an entertaining read home and maybe for the few pearls it may offer (the Maya village on p. 144 is not described in the Lonely Planet), but make sure you have a second guide book at hand.
