The first 2 discs in the series were superb and this does not disappoint in any way. Great tone and sound, sensitive interpretations. If you have only heard Sting/Karamazov play this music, you owe it to yourself to hear what a true master of the instrument can do. If you already own the O'Dette, McFarlane and Lindberg versions, this is still worth the download.

I am fully satisfied with this item, as well with the two other Dowland records I recently bought.

There have been a number of excellent recordings of Dowland in recent years, perhaps most notably those of P. O'Dette. The Naxos recordings by Nigel North are a worthy addition to the library of any early msuic enthusiast, whether they own the earlier recordings or not. Nigel North's playing is, as usual, extremely clean, precise and yet very expressive. One has the feeling that every note is carefully placed and sounded just as Nigel intends. His measured approach to the music has a very different feel to it than other Dowland recordings, and brings out some different aspects of these pieces. These are great pieces by Dowland, great music by any measure and the Pavans are in particular deeply moving. Highly recommended.
