I own almost every fund-raising compilation CD from the "Pavarotti & Friends" collection and this CD is one of the best. The contributors to this CD did a fabulous job, especially Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin who ventured to sing in Italian and pulled it off beautifully--I have a newly-found respect for Ricky Martin because of it. Of course, Pavarotti was marvellous and outshined everyone--his voice is just so powerful, magnetic and overwhelming. I think everyone should buy this CD. There is something on it for everyone to enjoy. And not only will the listener benefit, but the people of Guatemala and Kosovo will, too.

This is one of the most beautiful CD's I have ever heard. The combination of Pavarotti, Mirah Carey, BB King, Lionel Richie and the children's choir is magnificent!!! Listening to those children singing in Italian was very beautiful.

I am a big fan of Pavarotti and have been for years. I have given this CD to many friends as a gift and they have all enjoyed and loved it. The Italian songs brought back memories of growing up in NY and I thoroughly enjoyed them.

This audio and video tape is highly recommended ... well done performance by all who performed with high praise for Pavoratti to bring together a number of diverse talents and to blend in so well together ... love the performance of Ricky Martin in "Mama" as well as the opening and closing numbers ... also Bozone performance with Pavarotti was a 10 !

great album and for a great cause

As always, Pavarotti and 'his friends' have made another great album. This time he is joined by such diverse acts as Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, B.B.King, Joe Cocker, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan, and Boyzone, among others. These benefit concerts are a great way to raise money for children in war torn countries, as a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this album goes to 'War Child'. The 28 page book is packed with photos from the night, and of some of the children who will benefit from this. Recommended.

I have heard the CD and seen the video and this is an exceptional choice of music and artists. You will enjoy it for years to come.

RICKY MARTIN'S ANNOUNCEMENT THAT HE WILL SING MAMA IN ITALIAN WAS A SMART MOVE AND HE CARRIED IT OFF. ALL SINGERS PERFORMING WITH LUCIANO SOUND LIKE STUDENTS INCLUDING PLACIDO & CARRERAS.NOTICE THE EVER PRESCENCE OF ZUCCHERO, A FRIEND AND BENEFACTOR. THE VIDEO IS EVEN BETTER SHOWING BACKSTAGE AND PRIOR TO THE EVENT. I GUESS YOUR REVIEWER MISSED MICHAEL JACKSON, WHOM APPARANTLY THOUGHT OF HIMSELF FIRST. TOO BAD. HE IS A GOOD PERFORMER. TO ASSEMBLE A VAST ARRAY OF TALENT FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE CONTINENT IS A TRIBUTE TO THE 'MAESTRO' AND SHOWS THE RESPECT HE DESERVES FROM ALL PERFORMERS. THE VARIOUS GOVERNMENTS SHOULD TAKE HEED AND FOLLOW SUIT.

A very nice mix of common music that's even nicer when Pavarotti joins in with his classic voice. Mariah Carey more fabolous than ever. Ricky Martin sounds like a singing seventh grader with Pavarotti as his teacher.

After accidently seeing the PBS show I rushed to find the CD and soon after found the video at Amazon. What an entertaining show and as all others have said, Ricky Martin shined and sang Mamma in Italian perfectly. Pavarotti blended in so beautifully with every guest and you should especially listen to Boyzone who are from Ireland but in my ears top the Back Street Boys and all other American boy groups. The only singer who really needs some developing was Laura Pausini of Italy. All in all, I highly reommend this CD and I will enjoy it for years to come.

For so long now I been search for the song Pavarotti sing with Boy Zone and I found it on this CD and to my delight I truly enjoy the whole CD it's fantastic you will not be disappointed if you do buy it.
