When my wife bought a Paw Plunger I thought she'd lost her mind. It looked like a gimmick of little value. Boy, was I wrong. We have three dogs and live in a woods with a creek. That means 12 muddy feet every time they go outside almost year 'round. This tool has made feet cleaning so much easier and efficient than it was with the old towel-dry method. It really works! The dogs are happier. My wife and I are happier. The only guy who hates this tool is the guy who used to clean our carpets every month....we only see him twice a year now. I actually bought Paw Plungers for friends and family members with dogs and they love it, too. Worth every Dime!

My greyhound is a bit of a baby who will whine if the wind blows the wrong way, so I was curious to see how he'd deal with the Paw Plunger. Well, it must be gentle and/or feel good, because he doesn't make a peep and stands very calmly while I "plunge" each paw! So far, we've only used it on snowy days with some warm water to warm up his paws and get the snow off, so I can't say how it does with mud yet, but it's great so far! I'm sure it will be great with the mud though, since the soft bristles are pretty tight inside. We love it!!!

This is not a very safe product. My dog's paw got caught in the plunger. We were all stressed out specially him, not to mention the pain that he was in. He could not stop wailing so we called the emergency room. Because we were unable to cut the hard plastic, they asked us to bring him into the emergency room. On the way there, his paw released and he was not harmed. I believe that the problem is that the holes inside the plunger are big enough for dog's nails to get caught.

This has really been a life saver for me. I have two dogs. one is an English Setter with long hair on his paws, and it does a great job of cleaning them! My Jack is too little to get into it.

The trick is to train them to be still while you dip their paws in the unit. I dip, squeeze the excess water from his paw and have the towel ready to dry, and he is such a good boy that he even turns around and lifts his back legs up for me..BUT...!

I can totally see the reviews in regards to it being too heavy and hard to use, because it really is! My wife and sister (when she watches the dogs) will not use it, they both say that it is too heavy and cumbersome for them. I just muscle through it and call it good.

I have since took the idea and made my own, lighter and smaller version that will work for my Jack Russell as well.

GREAT!!! idea, just needs some tweaking. If you don't mind a little work it really is better then standing there for 10 mins cleaning mud from between their toes when this does it in a few secs. In the summer it doesn't get used because the garden hose is WAY easier.

We have a one year old 70-80 lb. male boxer who has made our small back yard into a complete muddy pigsty. The paw plunger has been an absolutely crucial in keeping the mud out of the house. My husband and I have been using it for 9 or 10 months now; we have never had any problems with the product. Our dog enters the house from the back door, which leads to a WHITE kitchen floor, so clean paws are a must. Our dog tolerates it very well; he patiently stands on the rug at the back door until all of his paws have been cleaned. I have never had any issues with his paws getting stuck; there is plenty of room for his paw to get in and out of the plunger. The person who mentioned that in their review didn't specify what breed of dog they had; I imagine it would take a very large dog for that to happen. Some people also had complaints that the paw plunger was heavy and cumbersome. It does get much heavier when you fill it with water of course, but you can also clean your dog's paws as the paw plunger sets on the floor. Taking into consideration that you are only using it for a minute or two, I don't consider weight to be an issue. I do not find the paw plunger to be messy by any means; as I am drying my dog's paw I hold his paw over the paw plunger so any drips of water land in the paw plunger, not on the floor. The paw plunger also has 2 sets of lids that both screw down tightly, so if it is accidentally tipped over, water would not dump everywhere. My house would be a muddy nasty mess without the paw plunger; I would be mopping my floors and cleaning my carpets several times a day without it. I think the paw plunger is worth every penny, I am so glad I found something that worked as well as I hoped it would!

Our 140lb. Blue Great Dane was quite reluctant to allow us use it at first. We thought that we had wasted our money. But now he allows us to use it. He is still a bit skittish to let us use it but over time he has gotten a lot better at letting us clean his paws with it.
It works great! His paw can get really dirty going out in the mud or mulch in the yard but the plunger cleans them quickly. It works best for us if you plunge the plunger up and down over his paws instead of trying to plunge his paws into it. It works just like cleaning your golf balls at the golf course.

Like others, I didn't hold high hopes for this product but now I would not be without one. It totally cleans our sheltie's paws after a romp in the mud. Get a micro-fiber drying cloth to wipe the wet, clean paw and you're all set. We have had this product for a year and have never had a problem with it. Our dog now sits and waits for his paws to be dipped and swished. We follow the directions and fill it with warm water before a walk so it's ready and waiting when we return.

With a greyhound and a whippet that are in the process of excavating our back yard, they often come in with all four paws covered with mud, especially after a rainstorm or the sprinklers have been on. The paw plunger has kept lots of dirt from coming in any further than the back door. It is much easier to wash the doggie feet at the door than lugging them into the bathtub, as we were doing before the plunger. It works quite well. Just be sure to have a towel or rug ready for fido to stand on, and a towel to wipe off their feet after they are washed. I sometimes rub a bit of Cetaphil gentle cleanser on their paws to help loosen the dirt before the "plunge"' and I think that helps get their paws a little cleaner. The paw plunger comes with a rubber like band around the base and a lid, both of which are unnecessary and were quickly discarded. I am glad to have the paw plunger. It is keeping our house a little cleaner.

my sister bought this for me, i thought another piece of junk. i tried it and loved it. i can clean my dogs paws in atleast half the time and my dog does'nt even mind. she is kind of a jumpy thing, did'nt even phase her. I AM NOT KIDDING...THIS THING IS GREAT!!!!!

My dog is a digger so this is helpful in cleaning her paws after she has been outside. I am not sure this would work for very small dogs as it is pretty deep but I have a small golden retriever and it is great.
