So I purchased this same chicken coop design from an ebay dealer for $120 MORE. Whats ironic- THIS was MUCH MUCH better quality than what I found for more $$ on Ebay! This little coop will actually stand up in the wind! It is screwed together and is composed of real solid wood - Unlike the crappy ebay version! The one on ebay was stapled together and the wood was 1/4 and 1/8 inch warped interior trim wood! this coop is made of real solid wood and i believe this one will withstand predators and winds. I suggest you should add some real shingles and/ or an extra coat of polyutrethane to weatherproof but all in all I am impressed. I am thinking that this coop is good for only 2 to 3 chickens. No more unless they are bantams.
I also suggest you let this air out for a week or so before you add your flock because there is a strong odor of stain and i wouldn't want those paint emissions to impact my flock.
But bottom line- i think this is a great deal. It was packed well and instructions are pretty good- save for the spelling errors!
So i would certainly reccommend this for the price. HOWEVER if you have 4 or more chickens or if you want something to last more like 10 years outdoors- i would suggest investing in a real solid wood 2 x 4 framed, windowed and roofed chicken hut. that may cost you something between $500 to $1500 but you should really consider it if you want to raise hens longterm vs. this cute little number wich i guess won't last for more than 3 years unless you weatherproof it with extra siding and roofing materials. hope this helps!

This product is just great if you just have a few chickens and would be great for about two to three rabbits...i really love this it works great for everything i need it for..I did buy some water sealant to coat it in just to make sure it doesn't rot but it is a wonderful product...was very hesitant about buying it at first but have had no problems...all my pieces where intact and had no need to send any parts back to be replaced...

We did a bit of research about building our own coop vs. buying one and decided on this option due to the cost, size and the raised house. The run is a good size for our two hens (although they much prefer open range in the yard). We live in the city, so the size is perfect...not too big, not too small. The coop is easy to clean and pretty easy to build as well. It took about an hour with no issues. The only change I would suggest is to have the roost nailed in. We are going to nail it in ourselves because one of our ladies likes to knock it down every day.

In regards to the review that said that the roof blew off in a stiff wind, I'm surprised. The coop is sturdy. We had an incredible storm last night with wind, hail, rain, etc and the inside of the coop was perfectly dry...there were no signs of any damage this morning. The hens even seemed unaware that there had been gunshot loud thunder in the night when they came stomping out this morning.

This chicken coop is good for 3-5 chickens if they have further space to roam (we keep our door open and they have a fenced pen during the day and close them in at night). It has held up to keeping predators out of this space. The coop holds all of the chickens fine at night and has a sliding door that keeps the box closed. Its made of nice wood. We have used for a year through a rough winter and its held up well. It was not too difficult to set up.

Recently purchased this coop for our first attempt at backyard chickens and everything is going great so far. The coop assembly instructions aren't great, but if you're handy with a drill the assembly shouldn't take more than an hour (including a couple mistakes along the way). One recommended change is that all the locks need reinforcing if you have predators in your area. Something as simple as a second lock does the trick nicely. Also, a latch on the roof is helpful to prevent a strong wind gust from blowing the hen house roof open. Finally, the coop sits directly on the ground without any additional barriers. Again, if you have predators in your area, you might want to add a little more protection for your chickens by adding hardware wire to the bottom of the coop to prevent diggers from getting in from the bottom.

I purchased this coop for my four Delaware chickens and it was perfect. It's made better than a lot of portable coops and is sturdy and secure. The housing compartment is the perfect size for them to roost in at night and the nesting boxes are large ( in fact all four chickens snuggle in one box together still at times and they are fully grown). The run under the housing unit is large enough for them and are quite at home going between the top and bottom. I really am very pleased with this purchase. The shipping speed was faster than estimated and everything was intact and not damaged when I opened the box unlike other coops we have had shipped in the past. I would purchase through this seller again and would recommend this coop to anyone with a few chickens.

It shipped super fast! Some things to know...it arrived with a few dings, but its a chicken coop and I doubt they mind too much. The instructions lack in a big way but hang in there, you'll get there. Think like a 3 year old, ok. The whole unit is much smaller than it appears on the web site. I have 4 Rhode Island Reds that kinda attached at the hip anyway. That totally maxs out the space. Three would be roomerier for the little darlins. When you say "go to your room" they all go. We love the way it looks in our back yard. If we get more birds I'll just buy another and attach them together making one big coop. Phoebe, Scarlet, Heneretta and Tiger...I know "Tiger"...we have grandchildren...ok
