A great hammock! The antique brown color is perfect because it doesn't show dirt or marks as easilly as a white hammock would. It's a very comfortable hammock and fits very well on a hammock stand. My husband loved this as a birthday gift! If you are expecting rain, do take it inside as it takes quite awhile to dry out.

We bought this to replace a previous pawley hammock that disintegrated from mold and water damage. Thus far, after almost a year, the synthetic version is both more comfortable and more durable. We keep it under cover, but we are in an extremely humid climate and it hasn't shown much wear at all. If you are debating whether to get the regular cord or the duracord, I'd say it is worth the extra bit of cash.

Well worth the asking price. I was impressed by the quality of the rig right out of the box. The wood slats appear to be very solid with zero warping and a nice smooth finish. The packaging was perfectly simple, honestly I don't see why any elaborate padding would ever be necessary. I opened up one end of the box, slid it out onto the lawn. I was then able to roll out the hammock between the two trees I had in mind (completely tangle-free), set up the eyebolts (included), hook each end, then adjust the stretch to exactly where I wanted it (a fair amount of chain is included for adjustment). Ridiculously simple and easy.

The hammock itself is amazingly comfortable in no small part due to the DuraCord material. I couldn't tell it was synthetic. It feels just like cotton or similar natural fiber. Against skin it doesn't chafe or otherwise irritate, it's actually very soft, imo.

I can't comment on its durability since I've only had it up for a month, but it is used a couple times on weekends, although not so much on weekdays. The better half likes to curl up and read in it and is perfectly content to spend a fair chunk of time just relaxing.

Excellent value for less than $120! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this versus the cheaper and less expensive hammocks out there. I really feel like I did get what I paid for.

Bought this for my second home / vacation rental in Hawaii. My previous hammock had turned black with mold after a few months and nobody told me. Ick! (Yeah, what are property managers for anyway?) So I got this one and it has been left outside in the rain and humidity for almost 2 years, and never looked dirty. So that was great.

In June it was fine, but now in September we just showed back up and the wood slat is rotted away and broken in two. We don't know what some renter may have done to it, but still it is clear the wood is rotted so it probably wasnt their fault.

I am still getting another one of these, because I don't know another better choice. But since this is anti-mildewing rope, maybe the wood should be treated better, or metal used.

First, I've got to say that I've been buying Pawley's Island Hammocks exclusively for the past 30 years. I don't know how many I've bought over the years, but it is upward of 10 as we always have 2 active hammocks at home and 2 in our camper when we were still camping.
I just replaced a worn out oatmeal cotton cord (after 8 years of use, so it was time) with this Duracord Antique Brown.
Received it yesterday and hung it and spent a couple of hours test swinging it today.
PROS:
I love the brown color, though it is much darker than the picture. It really goes well with the oak trees it hangs from.
The Duracord is much softer than expected and if it performs better than the cotton cord in the South Carolina humidity I will be thrilled. Mildew has always been a problem here.
The weave quality is top notch with the ends of the cords all fused well.
CON:
Only 1, but it is a big one. The spreader bars are not bent at all, though the product description claims they are.
To my old body, the old bars with the visible curve, feels much more comfortable. I've compared it with the old one and there is no curve at all in the new one. It just doesn't allow the net to wrap the shoulders the way the old ones do. I really wish I could just have my old bars rewoven. I will keep this one but will try to palm it off on my Husband and I will use his older one!
When the next replacement is needed I will look at other options, something I haven't done in 30 years.

All in all this is a good hammock, but it is not the great hammock it once was.

Nice hammock! Looked around, found this one had consistently good ratings. The rope is soft to the touch but durable, the color hides any dust/dirt. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth the money. Well made.

We purchased our Pawley's Island Storage Bag as well as the Pawley's Island Trelis Stripped Gardens Collection Large Quilted DuraCord Fabric Hammock, Pawleys Island Tri-Beam Textured Steel Hammock Stand and Pawleys-Island-Hammock-Wheel-Kit the summer of 2009. Our Pawley's Island Hammock is easy to assemble and disassemble. Everything stores easily because the stand breaks apart and the hammock slips easily into the storage bag.

We love our Pawley's Island Hammock because it is strong and the most comfortable hammock we have ever relaxed within. It is easy to enter and exit. It sits in direct sunlight from the south all summer and hasn't faded a bit. Our Pawley's Island Hammock held my husband, myself, 3 small dogs and 5 medium/large dogs all at the same time giving you an idea of it's strength and size. (One of our medium/large dogs passed which is why I wrote held)

We purchased everything from Amazon at reasonable prices. We love it all the Pawley's Island Storage Bag, Hammock, Stand and Wheel Kit. The wheel kit allows an older child or adult to move the hammock by themselves.

Our favorite pastime is for the 9 of us to climb into the hammock and enjoy the night sky. Meteor showers are the best!

I did a lot of reach on what type of hammock to buy. Duracord seemed like best option. I am satisfied with my decision. The material is soft, durable. As others have noted it is stretchy and I had to put chain on second link. I was also hestitant on the size. 55" is perfect, any bigger wouldn't look right. It fit my husband and two sons, age 12 and 6 in it comfortably at same time. Pawley's Island has lived up to its great reputation so far.

If I could give this more than five stars I would! This hammock is very comfortable and very sturdy. I've only had it for a few months, but I can tell it will wear well. I loved the antique brown color, along with a bronze hammock stand - it is an addition to the look of the yard rather than an eyesore. Having never purchased a hammock before I was anxious about which brand to go with. After going to the Pawley's Island website and seeing a picture of Ronald Regan relaxing on his Pawley Island hammock, and learning that South Carolina gives a gift of a Pawley Island hammock to each new president, I chose this brand - I figured if it was good enough for Reagan it was good enough for me. After receiving one for myself, I think I'll stick with Pawley's Island for ALL future hammocks.

We bought this hammock for my husband's father's day gift. It is very comfortable and very well made. We are very pleased.
