Review

Pawn Of Chaos: Tales Of The Eternal Champion is an anthology of original fiction by some of the best storytellers in the field of heroic fantasy today (Michael Moorcock, John Shirley, Robert E. Vardeman, Nancy A. Collins, Colin Greenland, Roland J. Green, and sixteen others). Pawn of Chaos is set in Michael Moorcock's Multiverse, a universe upon universe of alternate Time and Space in which Law and Chaos wage a continuous struggle to change the fundamental rules of existence. Readers will journey with the Eternal Champion who is doomed to live forever in a thousand incarnations including Erekosl, Prince Corum, Dorian Hawkmoon, Jerry Cornelius, and Elric of Melnibone. Each becomes a key player in the "Game of Time", yearning for their lost love and the tranquility of the fabled Tanelorn. -- Midwest Book Review

2.0 out of 5 stars Super Reader, August 1, 2007
This review is from: Pawn of Chaos: Tales of the Eternal Champion (Paperback)
If someone else has said that this is disappointing, sub-par or not well-received, then, they are right. Absolutely below average. (Average story rating, 2.8) Not sure what the editor was thinking, but having a bunch of writer joke Jerry Cornelius stories in what is ostensibly on the surface suggested to be an Elric collection = very bad idea. Throw in Glogauer, and even worse. Likely to annoy everyone, then.
