Has some great potential, but turns out to be very limited,

This is a fun game for a while, but it gets repetitive. There are only a few animals and diagnoses and a LOT of running around.
You can "unlock" more animal patients by taking exams in "town". But there are only about 6 exams to take and then you are done. There should be more and enable more animals or different diagnoses. There is also a place to buy feed, a pharmacy for your medical supplies, a coffee shop where you can go for a very limited number of game tips and general info (make that very very limited), a bank where you can borrow money if you want to build pens faster or need to buy supplies. There is also a shop where you can buy a few things to personalize your home and office, like a potted plant, or a carpet. Very few things, and you can only buy one of each. I thought it would be fun to have plants all over my vet office, but I could only buy one. There is a home right next to the office, complete with a bathroom. What's that for? I thought maybe you could buy things for it, like a shower curtain, but no. There is also an exam room in the vet office, but I don't know why. You can't do anything in it but walk around. You can't buy anything to put in it. The animal diagnosis and treatment is fun at first, but gets repetitive fast. There are only a few animals and illnesses in the game, and you do not get to choose the diagnosis or treatment yourself. It would be nice if after you've gotten the hang of it, you could advance to a level where you could select the diagnosis and treatment yourself. I mean, how many times does someone have to bring you a cat with a sore paw before you figure out how to disinfect, apply antiseptic, and give an antibiotic. Not that many, I can assure you. You can opt to refuse the patient, which I did a few times (not the bunny with a runny nose again!) but I don't know what will happen if you consistently refuse certain patients. Caring for the animals is pretty easy and more rewarding than another animal game I played. But it is a little frustrating to have customers coming into the office (and sometimes turning around and walking back out again) while you are out in the kennels or aviary or whatever taking care of the animals. Also, you don't get paid anything extra for boarding animals. You have to go buy food and toys, etc. but you only get paid the initial treatment fee, even if you kept the animal for several days. Customers also keep coming while you go to town for supplies and what not. It would be nice if you could close the office while you are running errands or caring for animals. I did eventually figure out that at the beginning of each new "day" I would have a short amount of time to run around and care for animals before customers showed up but even then, there would be several waiting for me by the time I got back to the office. Once you've built up your horse stables, you can buy horseback riding equipment and horses to ride. I didn't play on to that level too much, so I won't comment too much either. This game was fun for a while, but would have been better with more of everything: more animal care classes, more things to buy, more animals and types of illnesses, and ability to control diagnosis and treatment.

Great game, we all love it. It moves quickly & keeps you busy, at first. After a few game "days" when you've accumulated some $, it gets very routing & predictable. Still fun but once you hit a certain point it just more of the same.

Pet Vet has my 9-year old occupied all the time and she is learning how to care for animals. One really has to read the directions that came in the package to learn what to do, but my daughter says, "It's fun." It has lots of activities and levels of play. I highly recommend it.

I bought this for my 11 year old, but even my older and younger children have enjoyed it. I like this game because it is timeless and they don't get to the end and get bored of it. We are very happy with this purchase. Also got this very quickly and in great shape.

I purchased this item for our granddaughter, age eight. Last year, as an Oma, I didn't have a "clue" what the pink little hand held device even was. This year, I'm an expert. It is a DS Nintendo and you purchase little games that fit inside and make your grandchildren happy.
Our granddaughter loves, loves animals and Pet Vet is a favorite. It was a good purchase!

This game was purchased for our 8 year old and she is enjoying it. It is a little harder than she expected but not so hard that she can't enjoy it. Also, gave this to a friend and she loved it!

If you are a horse lover I would not recamond this.
First of all riding horses is not very fun. Treating animals Isn't as fun as Pet Vet: Pals and Claws pet school.

This game was purchased for my 11-year-old daughter. She was not impressed. Read on to get a review in her own words: This is a highly uninteresting game to me, the BOX was more interesting than the game. So, i would say, if u are not interested in reading very much of the instructions, this not a game for you, dude! If u are really lil and get frustrated easily, then i do not recommend this game at all- unless you want a challenge!!!

I really like this game. It's fun taking care of the animals. I'm still learning how to build the pens, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
