Book Description

April 24, 2012
The #1 Queen of Street Lit WAHIDA CLARK delivers the latest installment in her best-selling series PAYBACK AIN’T ENOUGH

Filled with the same glamour, sex and danger, we dive back into the hip-hop drama where old rivalries and new beefs arise in Detroit’s blood-drenched drug turf. Shan is now married to Briggen, the much desired former hustler turned legitimate businessman. With one child and another on the way, Shan’s life is about to get turned upside down. In a day she’ll go from being the envy of the streets to having her life on the line.

Briggen, a man leading a double life, wants to know who killed his brother, Forever. He wants revenge but it’s only a matter of time before Briggen’s own lies catch up with him. Nick is back in the big ‘D’ and ready to take over the game. The only thing standing in his way is a buried secret from his past that is about to come back to haunt him. It’s only a matter of time before ambitions and secrets collide and revenge goes a step too far. In this game of power and intrigue where the stakes are high and the rewards are dazzling, the losers are gonna discover – there’s always a price to pay.

After nine and a half years in federal prison and ten months in the hole, New York Times bestselling author, Wahida Clark, has truly earned her place among the greatest in urban fiction.

Wahida Clark is like fine wine; she gets better over time, bolder in character, a sinful delight, and an acquired taste.

Shan FOOLED us all, most importantly Briggen as this naive lady w/ no street knowledge. During her transformation mentally and physically to get from under Briggens spell, she was like her best friend Brianna reincarnated. She was only out for self, her new business, and unfortintely even neglected her child.

There were so many jaw dropping moments....None might I add that you saw coming. This left a lot of questions and confusing plots, some just came put of left field.

Out of all Briggens ex's, Shan screwed him over the worst of all. Yeah he did some foul things but nothing to justify her scandalous ways. But to see who Shan leaves with is baffling, she will learn the lesson of her stupidity the hardest way possible.

Lastly, Why would Briggen be leaving w/ Sharia? When did they reunite?
Mia was Briggens ride or die chick showing is proving and that she did. There has to be one last book to this series to answer all the questions that this book left us die hard fans with......

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed - Disappointed April 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well...I was excited about this book because I read the other two in the series. First, I have to say that this series was not as good as the Thug series. Second, although the first two books in this series were pretty good this newest book gets a big thumbs down. Like other posters said it was all over the place. Conversations did not fit/flow, most of it just did not make sense. It was like she just kept writing to fill up the pages. I wonder if she even wrote the book. I am confused as heck. There are also really good reviews (5-4 star) which means that those posters do not look for story flow and consistency or they are some of her people trying to boost ratings. Now, I have read The Letter and The Response and those seemed like real Wahida teasers :), and I think I'll stick with the Thug series because this book just is not worth the 9.99 I spent. Tip: Borrow the book don't pay for it!!! Sorry Wahida...but when you start with putting out fire you can't end with putting out embers -actually this book didn't even spark :(
