Gameplay sees you robbing banks and pulling off various other heists with friends or bots. Gameplay is very objective based, and the objectives are sometimes randomized a bit, which helps replay value. There are a few bugs in the PC version right now, but Overkill works hard on its games and has been working to make sure everything is great. I personally haven't had any problems. There is also lots of customization when it comes to guns and masks. Also your skill tree is similar to borderlands, where you get points every time you level up and spend them on skills in 4 different specialist skill trees.
This is most fun with friends. You can also get matched with strangers over Live, which is a similar amount of fun. Nothing beats playing with people you know, though. Some of the missions are pretty difficult to accomplish with just AI teammates, because they won't help you with the objectives and just follow you around (think Left 4 Dead bots). I would not recommend this to someone without Xbox Live. Without other people, you're going to have a hard time.
Replayability is pretty high. Heists randomize slightly (for instance, sometimes the bank vault is in different rooms), there are 4 different difficulties which each pay out accordingly, there are over 20 different guns to buy and tons of attachments to add to them... and if you have some friends to play with... if you've ever had a go-to game for when playing with friends (SSB:Brawl, Timesplitters, etc) then just imagine all of these things mixed with the joy of playing with your friends. I'd say the game easily has 200 hours in it before you could get to the level cap and afford everything you wanted to.Read more ›
Has tons of gun attachments, masks, and has hours and hours of solid gameplay.
Be warned though it best to play with mic and with friends.
While PC has had over 10 patches since the release, XBOX/PS3 have yet to have one. I don't care who you agree with Overkill or the Systems, all I know is that I paid $40 a game that is being seriously ignored and it hurts the company's credibility IMHO.
Typical glitches you will experience with this game until it is patched:
-Can buy assets, but they don't work (just wastes your money)
-A 30 second jewelry heist makes nearly the same experience for a user as a 45 minute, 3 level job
-When you beat a level, if you are shooting your gun, reloading, etc, it just keeps repeating the noise until you start another level
-When a teammate goes down, sometimes you cannot revive him, it just glitches until player quits
If you have steam/pc, buy this game.. it's amazing... and to be honest, when the patches come through for XBOX, I will likely change my rating, but until then, no dice
