Do Not Use a Payroll Service. Learn to do Small Business Payroll Yourself.,

This review is from: Payroll Accounting: A Complete Guide to Payroll, 2001 Edition (Paperback)
I am finding "Payroll Accounting: A Complete Guide to Payroll" is truly complete. I am using it to learn how to do my small business's payroll myself. I will not need to hire an expensive payroll service to do it for me. I will still need to check with my state and with the Federal government for any tax law changes since the book was published. But after reading the book, I know where to check and what to check. This book is great if you do not have enough employees to justify paying a payroll service. For example, if you are the only employee of the corporation you own (as I am), then the cost of hiring a payroll service is unreasonably costly. After reading the book, I see there are a lot of rules; but I can understand the rules. And the book gives me confidence I do not need a payroll service.
