"Payton's Journey" is a fictional account of a most interesting spy network. The historical events and personalities of the Third Reich give it an air of believeability that makes it hard to put down. The cover art will intrigue any aviation buff who knew about the ME-109 launch from a U-Boat off the coast of America. The plausibility of the event is the basis for a wild and crazy ride through the author's eyes who grew up in the 1940's wondering what could of happened if Germany had pulled the plane's secret mission off. Flying near the Statue of Liberty and around New York sets the stage for a real test of spy vs. spy involving Churchill, Roosevelt, Howard Hughes and Hitler and his staff revolves around a series of events that could have happened just before Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

The action takes place in every high society venue in America's New York City and San Francisco locations as the spy network races the clock to stall the German propaganda machine led by Adolf Hitler's key staff members. Maritime buffs will especially appreciate the descriptions of famous German boats. The proposed cease-fire with England and the release of British prisoners and Holocost Jews adds to the intrigue of this spy thriller.

I enjoyed reading this book because it provided immediate gratification without the necessity of endless dialog and because it is truly inventive. I'm sure you've had a dream where you're trying to run away from some monster, but found your feet stuck in quick sand. That is how the usual book compares to this book. This book immediately gets you into the swing of things without the "overhead" of huge amounts of dialog and as a result more things happen per page than in any other book I've read. This may be a new form of expression half way between a graphic novel and a book, but without drawn pictures. I'm sure you would enjoy this book.

Journey ... it's a trip for sure. You must be able to zip right through some history which is being remade on each page. A different set of winners indicated herein. Be ready for some imagination to send you on your own "JOURNEY," jerking through time as we thought we knew it. Looking at the past via a crinkled rear view mirror while shedding the girls as he goes, accepting the one whose wares the crown of proximity. I recommend you take the trip.
