A beautiful album,

Sheila Walsh has finally recorded a Christmas album and it's a pleasure to listen to. I believe that Christmas music is appropriate any time of the year because of the message it sends. With arrangements that are Celtic textured, the album provides beautiful, haunting arrangements of some beloved Christmas hymns and some new, contemporary work. With her meadowlark soprano, Ms. Walsh brings her vocal beauty to "O Come All Ye Faithful", my personal favorite "In The Bleak Midwinter", "O Come O Come Emmanuel", "Silent Night", and "What Child Is This". "The Little Road to Bethlehem" gets a modern, lullabye feel to it. For newer work, standouts include "God Has Come To Us" and "Light of the World". This is a wonderful recording to add to your Christmas collection, and to share the true meaning of the Season with friends and family.

More than a Christmas album,

This album is incredible! It is far more than a Christmas album. I listen to it year round. It seems new and fresh with each hearing. In these times, it has a calming and uplifting effect on one's psyche. I highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful CD. The production is top notch incorporating lush orchestrations and some year 2000 electronic touches. Sheila Walsh is a captivating singer and she communicates the true meaning of Christmas and her love for Christ very effectively throughout this CD. It is a CD that I will enjoy for years to come.

Great Christmas - Poor Celtic,
By A Customer
This review is from: Peace: A Celtic Christmas (Audio CD)
This is indeed a wonderful Christmas album, however, if you are looking for a truly Celtic Christmas album, look elsewhere. The misleading title is about the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star, as I was a bit disappointed by the lack of Celtic music. Yes, there are the occassional "Celtic textures," but not nearly enough to qualify as a Celtic album. It is, in fact, an excellent traditional Christmas album. If you like Shelia Walsh and/or Christmas albums, you will probably like this album - as long as you know what you are getting.

I just recently discovered Sheila Walsh with a song from this CD, on Family Life Radio. I immediately purchased the CD and then found a few more for special Christmas gifts. She sends wonderful messages in her music. Easy listening and fun to sing along with!

Sheila Walsh has a beautiful voice. And any musical genre I have ever heard her lend her talents to was complemented tremendously. Christmas music was no exception.
As an avid Christmas music fan, this is one of those CDs that left me wondering why I waited so long to purchase it. Also, I grew up listening to contemporary Christian music (mainly of the late 70s through the early 90s) where Sheila Walsh found great success. Few female vocalists could sing as beautifully as she. The songs on PEACE are very melodic and enchanting. Like many contemporary Christmas releases, most of the songs are traditional and some are written by Sheila. But unlike most other Christmas albums released by CCM artists, the original songs are just as good (particularly "God Has Come to Us") as the traditional songs. Also unlike many other contemporary Christmas releases, none of the songs are jazzed up or ruined the way many artists feel they have to "improve" on what is already great music. This is one of my favorite Christmas CDs for just relaxing, and it has tremendous year-round appeal.

Sheila Walsh is a wonderful singer. if you like Enya you will enjoy Sheila she has a peaceful but powerful voice and this album is just great.
The songs just give me shivers when I here them she did a wonderful job in recording the album. the instrument are of a old period of time and so are the songs. Their are some traditional Christmas songs but for the most part the songs are different. I even think she wrote some of the songs. This is a great album for anybody who love Christmas music. She has a Choir and Orchestra joining here as well as some instrument that sound from the baroque age. Very well done. I would be nice if the record company would re-reissue this album. Sincerely, Jason or Peter Pielak.

Peaceful, heavenly Christmas CD, but not really too Celtic,

I'm a long time Sheila Walsh fan from back in the 1980's when she made a different style of Christian music then she does now. This CD is very peaceful, a heavenly Christmas CD, but not really very Celtic in flavor. The only Celtic song that I can recognize is "In The Bleak Midwinter." She is from Scotland, so it is Celtic in that way. That aside it is quite lovely and wonderful Christmas CD.
