This book seems to be more about spirituality than about John Lennon. The author never explains how he is communicating with John and is written like he is eavesdropping. Then at the end of the book there is an interview. I would have preferred an interview (Q&A) type book versus novel style writing.
With that stated it is very well written but for...

This review is from: Peace at Last: The After-Death Experiences of John Lennon (Paperback)
This book is one of the rarest of its genre.

As it says, the author is John Lennon, who, after his death from a bullet in early Dec. 1980, found a way to transmit a specific message through the author in the physical, Jason Leen, who has previously channelled 'The Death of the Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran. The author on the physical, in the interest of authenticity and accuracy holds an extremely low profile, not even mentioning his name on the front cover, preferring instead to speak of his own relevance through a carefully worded introduction. According to him, even the title, 'Peace at Last' has been chosen by the legendary Beatles musician.

It has been recommended by amazon.com that this book be bought in combination with 'Dancing in the Shadow of the Moon' by Machaelle Small Wright. These are the two books mentioned as references in 'Planet Two' by Lynn Grabhorn, author of the hugely successful 'Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting'. Riding on the success of the latter, Lynn Grabhorn has written two other books, 'Dear God, what's happening to us?' and 'Planet Two'. These two books deal with the increasingly discussed earth transitions to come after the year 2012 when the Mayan calendar comes to an end. 'Peace at Last' reinforces Lynn Grabhorn's message with some additions.

It has been made clear in the Introduction to this book that it is not meant for sceptics who do not believe in a Life after Death. But even for those who do, this book can test their credulity. It recounts a rare journey into the very heart of creation, surpassing all the ever increasing number of accounts of near death experiences coming out today, in the sheer richness of its depth and detail.

For those of us who are aware of the monumental changes to be expected after the year 2012, (or even that there is to be a transition at all), due to mankinds' unsustainable growth, this book conveys a sense of hope and comfort. It is a comfort in the sense that we get to hear, through somebody who has shared our earth experience that we as a species have not been forgotten by the Forces that Are, in the Heart of Creation. That such Forces which Exist, care enough about us, in our miniscule spheres of existence, to find somebody, reasonably well known, to transmit just this message- that They care, that Help is available. And that we are Loved beyond our knowledge, beyond our imagination.

For me, personally, reading this book has re-infused me with the sense of quiet that I have learned to crave. It has restored to some measure, the sense of hope that is so vulnerable to the multitudinous attacks to one's subconscious, attacks born out of the stress of living in a modern society, of its jarring rhythms and hectic pace. It validates the existence of an immense body of consciousness waiting in the wings to help us and cheer us on as we go through our daily chores. I feel also that this is one of the books with a message from Above, written with the express purpose of preparing humanity for the coming Earth transition.

All in all, this book is a must read for those interested in re-membering their lost s-elves.

Footnote added october 7, 2005: I finally found the name Jason Leen on the front cover. in letters so small as to be almost unnoticeable.

5.0 out of 5 stars When you least expect it!, November 8, 2002

This review is from: Peace at Last: The After-Death Experiences of John Lennon (Paperback)
I've heard alot of people talk about books that changed their lives, but until I read Peace At Last I never thought I would be able to say those words. Anyone who has ever wondered what happens when we die will be delighted with the beautiful world described within these pages. I will never again be afraid of dying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, July 11, 2010

As someone who purchased and read both "Across the Universe with John Lennon" and "Peace at Last", I felt I finally had to knuckle down and give this book a well-deserved review.

A few months ago I reviewed "Across the Universe", and it is only fair that I review this book, as well. Both claim to be the channeled after-death experiences of John Lennon, but for me, only one resonated with my soul: "Peace at Last".

For anyone expecting a day-to-day account of John's life in Heaven, you will be disappointed. This is not an after-death diary of his experiences in Heaven as much as its an account of his transformation from an ego-based human being to the spiritual being that he (and we all) are.

What was amazing to me is that there is no way the author could have made this stuff up. Every detail of what occurs in the spiritual realms is told in such a graphic, pain-staking way that you are left awed by the descriptions. What I came away with was the comfort in the beauty, love and healing that awaits us all, and how the shedding of our earth-based egos is an automatic and necessary process that aligns us with the spiritual beings that we truly are. John, upon his death, is taken through a transformative process wherein he evolves more and more into an enlightened spirit..still cognizant of his earth family, yet slowly embracing and remembering his real Home. He is joined by his mother who aids him in this spiritual Home-coming and journey. This is in stark contrast to "Across the Universe" where the John in this depiction is very much still a slave to the ego and his earth-bound ways which did not ring true to me at all.

If you want to read a fantasy novel regarding "John Lennon's" adventures in Heaven, then "Across the Universe" is for you. However, if you want to experience through the enlightened spirit of John Lennon his after-death journey through the spiritual realms and their role in transforming him from the identity we know as John Lennon to the spiritual being that he is, read "Peace at Last" and see for yourself.

With that stated it is very well written but for Lennon fan's just expect not much John and a lot of spirituality.

Bought this book as a lark and did not expect anything but a laugh or two. This book blew me away as it opens some serious considerations about life after death and much much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace at Last is Peace of Mind, June 14, 2011

This review is from: Peace at Last: The After-Death Experiences of John Lennon (Paperback)
This book was recently suggested to me by my yoga instructor who had read it over 10 years ago. I was always a Beatles fan and find John Lennon's "Imagine" to be one of the most inspirational songs ever written. In addition, at this point in time and like a growing number of people, I am searching for the true meaning of my own life and what's going to be happening with our world.

Having been raised to believe in heaven, I found the narrative of the wonders John experienced on the other side to be truly comforting. Granted, the reader can believe that the account actually happened or dismiss it as fiction, but the existence of universes (plural), pure energy and love are what dreams are made of.

John's descriptions are so full of visual references, I intend to reread the book a little more slowly this time, to more deeply "see" and feel each phase of his vibrational changes. Who knows when we will experience these things for ourselves.

The book also left me wanting more information from John: answers regarding his hoped-for contact with Yoko, his sons' possible reactions (with whom he had only been able to visit in dreams), and more about how his peace messages were ultimately received. The world's awareness has definitely shifted since his death, and he just may be part of a collective band of heavenly peace messengers/teachers just waiting for the students to be ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a journey through the stars!, June 11, 2003

This review is from: Peace at Last: The After-Death Experiences of John Lennon (Paperback)
A deep and provocative account of the transformations John Lennon experienced at death. This book allows the reader to take a front seat,
on the ride of a lifetime, as the spirit of John Lennon shares his story of the afterlife. Welcomed by his mother, Julia, and surrounded by an infinite number of Divine Beings, John initiates the reader into a vast cosmic awakening, where the Sun and the Moon converse and the Earth awaits the dawning of a Golden Age. A must read for anyone searching for meaning and purpose in the modern world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light at Last: Peace without knowledge is just ignorance., January 11, 2011
This review is from: Peace at Last: The After-Death Experiences of John Lennon (Paperback)
John's desincarnation (or death) if you wish, is a strong franchise for us, average people to stop and think about what is like passing away. The book itself really makes the reader wonder about after-death experience. The problem though is that it doesn't go any further. The book approaches the whole thing just as an experience, nothing else. At the end you've get the taste that it would never happen to you. That it would never happen to ordinary guys. Apparently, it looks like it is something reserved only to celebrities. Actually, the book provides good questions rather than sound answers. If the reader is looking for some personal comfort, that would work all right. If the objective is to be inspired by Lennon's steps as we all were in the past, it will definitely bring some hope as well. However, if the ultimate objective is to get knowledge about what actually happens to us all, ordinary or celebrities, after death, this is not the book. There's an author that can bring answers to our questions, that can approach our existence out of a black tiny box, that will make us to understand life and death as successive stages of our spiritual and material evolution. The name of this author is ALLAN KARDEC. The most important titles to start our own (educational) experience regarding life after-death and its connections with life before-death are 'The Spirits' Book' and 'The Book on Mediums'.
John's experience, ours, everyone's will be better understood if we give truth a chance. Let's allow "Peace at Last" to tease us, but let's strive for some deeper analysis on the most painful doubt of the entire humankind: what will be of us after our "passage". Our current life and our "next" death will be better faced by us.

This book isn't quite what I expected. Interesting to a point but it could have been written about almost anyone. It just didn't feel like it had much to do with John Lennon but more on what the after life may be. Nice sketches of Lennon but not enough of them.

Anyone who has ever lost a loved one will be greatly comforted by this book. A world of beauty, harmony and truth that is directly involved with the current transformation of the Earth. Read the book, open the door, enter the new world of harmony and love.
