4.0 out of 5 stars peace minus one
Toast--nice, heavy opening track with a catchy chorus...speaks out against alcoholism

Peace Minus One--vocals on this track are really nice, the lyrics are, of course, biting

Educated Hate--creepy song about school shootings

Shocking--this song is really intriguing..I can't really explain it.

Wicked Within--bunch of bass and a woman with a New York accent ranting...

1.0 out of 5 stars Loss of original lineup hurts RT bad. Where's the songcraft?
I had heard that Rorschach Test had lost at least two of its original band members before I bought this disc, but hoped that it wouldn't cripple the band's sound. My hopes were misplaced. Bottom line: Same name, different band.

Wicked Within--bunch of bass and a woman with a New York accent ranting. It's fun to listen to, and it ends before it gets too drawn out.

Satan--good song, but it really could've just stayed on Unclean

Gridlock--nothing spectacular, I usually skip over this track

Spent--for some reason Amazon skipped over this in their listing. It's my 2nd favorite song on the CD...fast singing verse leading into some screaming and the chorus which isn't amazing, but the verse makes up for it

Fornicator--This is the best song on the CD...pretty heavy, and also somewhat funny to hear him say "That's why they call me FORNICATOR" a bunch

Rollercoaster--see gridlock

Slaves--my 3rd favorite song. Lyrics are really good too "everyone wants to make somebody cry and bring flowers at their funeral" and "id rather be a murderer--than to be a murder victim" screamed a couple times

The Most Horrible Word Every Spoken--some screaming, a little singing...nothing exciting

Come--This song is pretty interesting. Best ending song I've ever heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly Powerful, February 20, 2003

I bought this CD after hearing the title-track on Music Choice TV. While I listened to it, my mind was ripped to shreds. Rorschach Test hit me with some of the most powerfull, pounding industrial sounds I've heard in a long time, while still providing a depth and substance to the songs which is so hard to find in most modern music. I've listened to my "Peace Minus One" CD several dozen times, I'll probably wear it out and have to buy a new one before too long. I also bought their major label debut "Unclean" shortly after, which is also a great listen. I think "Peace" is probably the best of the two, in my opinion, but it's a tough call. Standout tracks include the title cut, the pounding intensity of "Rollercoaster", "Satan" remastered from the first CD, and the thrashing beat of "Spent" This is really one of favorite CD's, and since Rorschach Test isn't flying across MTV all day, I doubt I'll get sick of it anytime soon. I think any fan of industrial groups like Static-X or Fear Factory, as well as good old metalheads like yours truly, would be proud to have this disc as part of their personal music arsenal.

One of the best metal Cd's i own. I have had it for a couple of years now, and it still has the same effect as it did the first day i listened to it. There are no weak tracks, and the highlights are "PEace Minus One", "Toast", "Satan" and "Rollorcoaster". The only thing wrong with the CD is that it doesn't have their best song, "Sex" on it, but still a great but, you can't go wrong.

I think this is the best heavy album of the year so far. It's relentlessly brutal! I highly recommend this one.

I had heard that Rorschach Test had lost at least two of its original band members before I bought this disc, but hoped that it wouldn't cripple the band's sound. My hopes were misplaced. Bottom line: Same name, different band.

The main thing that remains is lead vocalist James's raspy shout -- and if you like that, you may like this album. Unfortunately, that's pretty much all he does, and it's beginning to wear thin. Their last major effort, "Unclean," contained some guitar work and melodic depth that undergirded the punch and power of RT in its prime. Now we're pretty much just left with the shouting -- which reveals a temperament and worldview more simplistic (and pitiful) than any of the hypocracies that RT is attempting to skewer.

My advice: Get yourself a copy of "Unclean," and (if you can find it) RT's indie release "The Eleventh," and then move on.

4.0 out of 5 stars minus one beautiful guitar sound, August 26, 2000

I have to say I recommend Unclean over this album. "Peace minus one" definately rocks, but is lacking the melody and good song writing of their previous album. It could be because "Rorschach Test" is minus one or two of their original band members, and song writers.

This CD is for all the malcontent-ex-catholics out there. "Peace Minus One" is definatly music with something to say. If you like GZR (Geezer Butler's side project) then this is another CD for you. My guess is that unless you can take an honest look at yourself and the world around you and accept it for what it is, you won't like this CD.
