About the Author

Susan Skog is a nationally known author and presenter. Her previous works include Embracing Our Essence: Spiritual Conversations with Prominent Women; ABCs for Living; Depression: What Your Body's Trying to Tell You; and Radical Acts of Love: How Compassion is Transforming Our World. Trained as a journalist, Skog's work has appeared in many leading publications. For her newest book, Peace in Our Lifetime, she spent three years interviewing and gathering stories from peacemakers around the world.

In a world overwhelmed by conflict, Peace in Our Lifetime offers hope. It is filled with inspiring stories and ideas urging us to immediate action in our own lives. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a purposeful exploration of the peace movement in our world today, anyone who aspires to the goal of peace in our lifetime. 'Peace In Our Lifetimes' is one of the most readable and important books on the topic of peace. First, is finding peace within, then we share this with the world. World peace will only become a reality when enough people embrace the concept and truly believe that it is the most important change that we, as individuals and members of a world community can make.

So often we feel hopeless in making a difference on the world's atrocities, but Susan Skog shows us, brilliantly by example, that peace is indeed possible. She uses stories from real life heroes and sheroes, who stood up for change and made a difference. The book also steps on some toes, as it reminds us how can we expect to create peace in the world, when our own lives are in turmoil? She gives great suggestions on starting a personal journey towards peace, starting with ourselves.
