5.0 out of 5 stars A FAMED CULT RESEARCHER/APOLOGIST INTERPRETS THE "NEW AGE", June 17, 2011
Dave Hunt operates (with T.A. McMahon) an "anti-cult"/apologetics ministry, "The Berean Call." He has many other books, such as The Seduction of Christianity: Spiritual Discernment in the Last Days, A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days, What Love is This? Calvinism's Misrepresentation of God, Beyond Seduction: A Return to Biblical Christianity, Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church, etc.

He wrote in the Introduction to this 1983 book, "this is not your ordinary gloom-and-doom book about Armageddon... We will carefully consider the future of planet Earth from every angle: scientific, occult, political, military, Biblical... What the Bible says about the Antichrist is indeed hard to believe:... that he will deceive the entire human race into embracing a new one-world religion, of which he will also be the head."

Here are some additional quotations from the book:

"In contrast to the gloom-and-doom and frightening forecasts of the vast majority of Christians and non-Christians alike, we shall propose ... a coming new age of unprecedented peace and prosperity just over the horizon! ... If the Bible is true, then the coming new age of peace and prosperity could be the most dangerous period in human history, a time of mind-boggling deception that will be humanly irresistable." (Pg. 18)
"'New Age' is a euphemism for 'old occultism.' And this is nowhere seen more clearly than in the 'new spirituality' advocated by many leaders in the Women's Movement." (Pg. 70)
"The gurus are all vegetarians; Jesus clearly was not. He fed the multitude with fish more than once; He directed Peter to go to the lake and catch a fish; on at least two occasions He helped the disciples to make a huge catch of fish in their nets; He ate fish himself; and He partook of the traditional passover feast, for which a lamb had to be killed and eaten." (Pg. 103)
"How will the Antichrist 'solve' the Jewish problem? What kind of person will he be and how will he rule the world? ... there is every reason to believe that he will inspire his followers as the ultimate example of perfect humanity... And his admirers---millions of New Agers in thousands of network groups around the world---will be sincerely implementing Antichrist's programs in the name of peace, brotherhood, and love." (Pg. 232)
