These greeting cards,by Peter Pauper Press, have a melancholy, almost lonely night scene which somehow evokes a beautiful serenity. This was especially applicable to my family, as this is our first Christmas without my mother. Inside, the simple message, "Wishing You Peace and Joy This Holiday Season" is displayed.
The cards are of a good heavy stock. I particularly like the fact the one extra envelope is included, as I usually make a mistake on the first one a print on the computer each year. The drawback, was that the The United States Postal Service (USPS) charged an additional 20 cents on each one because of the size. At approximately 5 X 7 inches, they had to be sorted by hand, rather than automation. Of course, the card manufacturer has no control over USPS policies. I look forward to selecting Christmas cards and sending them to the family each year. All in all, I loved these cards and thought they were excellent all the way around.

The reviews and description did not prepare me what to expect so here is my addition.
1. The cards have lots of glitter. Expect glitter everywhere. It sheds on the envelopes, it gets on your table and on your hands and your face or anything you touch. 2. The card is kind of like a dull glossy photograph. It is smooth paper. I tried to run it through three different printers to add my printed message but the slick paper with glitter would not grip on the rubber wheels in the printer. 3. The printed message is in red. All and all it is a nice card.

These cards are simply magical; not only is the photograph on the cover stunning in and of itself, but the well placed glitter that you can't see in the advertising photo on the highlights (where the streetlights would hit the snow, rails, etc.) brings a whole new dimension to every card. The message inside, "Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season," is short and simple, written on the second inside flap in a clean red font. For those who like to write a lot in their holiday cards, but like having a little printed message as well, this suits that purpose just fine.
Also, seeing as I am pagan and celebrate the winter solstice (also called Yule or Yuletide), this gives me a wonderful, non-religious text that can apply to any and all of my friends and family. When you're buying a box of holiday cards and you have friends from every walk of life, that is definitely a big help and takes the edge off of worrying about offending someone's culture or religious beliefs. Bottom line: elegant image, lovely highlights, clean lines, simple (yet sincere) message, and good size. I can't wait to send these out to everyone!
