Do not buy this CD to relax or sleep. Screeching gulls & fog horns override the sounds of ocean surf. Instead buy Echoes of Nature, Ocean Waves. This CD really works.

I listen to this CD when I'm getting a massage or just relaxing outside. I've also found it helpful as a calming agent when I'm having a difficult day at work. The ocean sounds are very peaceful and relaxing after a hard day at work also.

This CD is okay for ocean sounds lovers, but I didn't care for the foghorn sounds or whales that come later in it. It's more of a Cape Cod type of sound that the Caribbean, which I prefer. I wanted JUST waves.

This CD is not for sleeping. To repeat another review, it has some loud birds and fog horns that would wake you up. It is wonderful for when I just miss the beach so much I can't stand it and I can close my eyes and pretend I'm there.

Not recommended if what you want is a sleep aid (which is what I was searching for).
Too many seagulls, foghorns, singing whales etc. for any sort of relaxation. Might be nice just for background or white noise, but not if you want to sleep!

When I've put this CD on my boom box at a lake or a pool, people around me comment that they love it because they can pretend they're at the beach! The bird, foghorn and whale sounds are too loud to put you to sleep, though, so it's not suitable for nighttime. In fact, the whale sounds are a bit intrusive because in reality, you're not going to hear whale song when you're lying on the sand. Otherwise it has good sound quality.
