A first rate satirical album that is a window into contemporay religion.
A wonderful and beautifully hopefully album mostly about Xmas. Peacencik is written by a writer who seems to have equal parts brains and heart. The songs are lyrical and often hysterically funny but always thought provoking. The idea christmas gift for the Born again in your family.

One heck of an emotional rollercoaster,

Roy Zimmerman dips his satirical feet in the holiday music water with "PeaceNick", his third solo release. There's something for just about every musical taste. Catchy, sing-along-able tunes include "Buy War Toys for Christmas", the all-inclusive "Christma-Hanu-Rama-Ka-Dona-Kwanzaa", and the global-warming-inspired "Hula Yule" on North Pole Island.
Roy becomes Robert Zimmerman for a song with "Christmas is Pain", complete with a couple of faithful harmonica solos. He also ventures into the instrumental world with "Jingle Bell Iraq", a lighthearted version of a holiday favorite, and "Eggnog" (think a winter version of "Tequila"). A couple of the songs are truly heart-rending: "Christmas in Crawford, 2004" chronicles President Bush's response to the Indian Ocean tsunami of that night, and the story of a soldier stationed in Iraq is told in "I Won't be Home for Christmas". Roy also goes '60s with "PeaceNick", gives a religious history lesson in "Two Brothers", veers back to straight satire with "Nothing But the Best", and wraps it up with the heartfelt "When a Child is Born". I heartily recommend all of Roy's work for anyone who likes to laugh and think.

Hysterical and Poignant,

Twelve holiday chestnuts from super songsmith Roy Zimmerman. The songs range from gut busting to heart wrenching. A holiday record for the ages but a special balm in these troubled times. Excellent!
